In-country Manager: Facilities Integrity & Corrosion Management

Responsible for establishing infrastructure for the Equipment Integrity Management System and implementation of the Inspection and Corrosion Management program for a 150kstb/day Oil plant, a 15km3/day gas system for Turbine fuel, 300kstb/day Formation Water and 1200km of interconnecting high pressure gas & Oil Emulsion pipelines, in the Kome area of Chad, through Camaroun to the FSO facility at Douala.

2000 - 2005 Esso Australia - Longford, Australia
Pipeline In-line Inspection Technician

Managed logistics & implementation of the In-line Inspection of Offshore and Onshore pipelines in an 800km network of high pressure oil and gas pipelines associated with Australia's largest crude oil and natural gas processing facilities; some of these pipelines were up to 30 years old. During this time a backlog of pipeline inspections was completed including some which had not been started because of difficulty with preparation (cleaning), or requiring infrastructure change to expedite. New Project Management systems were introduced to overcome Contractor-Operations interface challenges and to monitor Contractor performance.

1987 - 2000 Esso Australia - Longford, Australia
Senior Equipment & Pressure Vessel Inspector

Responsible for the inspection of 800 pressure vessels in 3 Gas Plants and 3 Crude Oil Stabilisation Trains, and associated equipment, supplying 100% of the state of Victoria's gas needs and 60% of Australia's crude oil production.
The role required close co-operation and co-ordination with Process Operations, Engineering and with the Maintenance Department were established, to achieve the annual Integrity Management Objectives.

1982 - 1987 Esso Australia - Longford, Australia
Equipment & Pressure Vessel Inspector

Plant & Equipment Inspector for Offshore Producing Operations and for the Longford Crude Stabilisation and Gas Plant Facilities, processing up to 500,000barrels/day of oil. Managed the Inspection scope and implementation for numerous Crude and Gas Plant shutdowns, initially working in liaison with the Government Inspection Authority, but following changes to Statutory Regulations, working independently in compliance with the Plant Safety Regulations.

1980 - 1982 Esso Australia - Sale, Australia
Inspection Engineering Technician

Inspection Technician with Inspection Engineering Group, Esso Australia, monitoring QA/inspection of Platform and Plant projects until specialising in fabrication of pressure vessels and major construction activities, monitoring Quality assurance and compliance. Duties included reviewing inspection programs for Production Equipment and reporting to the Statutory Authority.

1975 - 1980 Non-Destructive Testing, North Sea (UK) and Australia
NDT Technician,

NDT work in fabrication workshops onshore & offshore on Construction barges and Platforms in the North Sea,
Inspection & NDT of the Moomba Gas Pipeline during revalidation of QA data.
NDT of open cut mining plant, rolling stock and Port Facilities for Mt Newman Mining based in Port Hedland, WA.
Supervising the inspection of Pipe fabrication, in Pipe Mills throughout Japan, for the Bombay High Project(Indian Government).
Construction NDT for the Jeerilang Gas Turbine Project, in the La Trobe Valley, Victoria.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

SCHOOLING: Passed Matriculation in 1969 and completed 2 seimesters of Mechanical Engineering Degree at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology(not completed).
Studied Radiographic Safety, Ultrasonics(level 1) and Industrial Radiography at the Welding Institute(Abbington), Cambridge, UK.
Completed courses in Quality Assurance, basic welding, Corrosion Management and in Esso Inspection Practices, Standards and programs(Cranes, Pressure Vessels, Piping); and in general work development tools, including Risk Assessment, Root cause Analysis, Equipment Strategy process and Change Management procedures.
Attained AICIP certification as an In-service Inspector (#0018) when it was first introduced in 1997.
I have completed Safety Induction training to all Esso Production facilities, including Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET), Fire Fighting and First Aid training.
Completed training in MS Project, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Also use SAP application for Maintenance management (Esso Australia version is known as WIZARD)
