Objective: To find work as a Certified Journeyman Millwright (inter-provincial red seal)
Quick summary o 6 years of experience as a Millwright, 4 of which were apprenticeship. Have performed maintenance on all equipment in both Sawmill and Planer throughout my years of millwrighting.
o Was training on a Coastal Planer, with hydraulically driven feed rolls, 16 knife cutterheads, and profile saws. Average speed for this setup was 1260 ft/min, 675 ft/min in profile mode (2003).
o Spent much time working on, and maintaining a Nicholson A5, 17¡¨ Debarker with variable pressure ring, worked on redesigning the infeed system to above with the addition of a mousetrap that I¡¦d researched on the Internet, and also have partaken in extensive saddle work on this machine also (1998 - 2000).
o Have worked on all equipment, such as conveyor chain replacement, structural welding, Chipping Saw (CNS), bin cable replacement, saw changes, hydraulic component replacement of various hydraulic units, drive unit repair, preventative maintenance, whistle chasing during production in both planer/saw mill. (1998 - 2003)
o Unemployed due to plant closure.
My strongest points are:
o Am very safety consious, safety shortcuts are out!.
o Very mechanically inclined.
o Love a challenge, such as working on a planer where adjusting one variable can change many variables.
o Like an organized workplace, as clutter and mess are unsafe and unproductive.
o Have run most production equipment on the production lines, as well as in the yard, in both planer and saw mill.
o Currently my computer skills involve Microsoft Word, Excell, HTML, Jasc PSP 8, FTP, graphics manipulation, and design of drive system spreadsheets, 2 home pages on the Net, digital photo restoration, etc.

Have also put together Excel Spreadsheets regarding drive unit construction, with automatic read outs for chain & belt length, and speed per/min/sec lineally and rim-wise. These are on the Net for use as shareware, and example view can be seen at http://users.uniserve.com/~kgerman/award.htm.
