Passed NCTVT (National council trade vocational training) apprentice training Examination (Instrumentation trade) in May-1998 with Distinction (74%). Held by Government of Gujarat (India). This is a one-year training course in petrochemical industry.
PERFORMING DUTIES AND HAVING SKILLS AS A "INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN"
1, Skills in performing loop checking, calibration, service, maintenance and troubleshooting of different electronic, electrical and mechanical systems. Competent to read P&I diagram with cause & effect chart, troubleshooting of plant safety interlock system of processes, instruments and machines.
2, Attending different electronic, electrical and mechanical system related breakdowns, up gradation and project work. These include checking and rectification of different electronic, electrical and mechanical instrument related loops of different parameters like: pressure, flow, level, temperature, pH, conductivity, vibration, weighing, sizing, humidity, speed, safety, position & condition, intensity etc.
3, Performing different task like servicing, overhauling, cleaning, repairing and replacing the parts of different electronic, electrical and mechanical instruments like: Transmitters, Controllers, Indicators, Recorders, Analyzers, Programmable logic controllers with Human machine interfaces, Annunciates, Scanners, Variable frequency drives, Uninterrupted power supply, Totalizing units, RTD and thermocouples, Object sensors, Position sensors, Encoders and converters, isolators, different switches, access systems, smoke-gas and fire detecting systems, EPABX & telephone, camera, UV systems, barcode reader, different pumps and motors, clutch and break assembly, heaters, fans, Control valves, Solenoid valves, PRV, rupture disk, gauges, Sight glass level indicators etc. relating to different parameters, types and makes.
4, Responsible for Calibration and checking related activity of electronic and electrical instruments regarding to ISO 9001, ISO 14000 and USFDA audits. Also having awareness of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) of plant in food & pharmatutical industries. Performing this activity by different steps like calibration through master calibrating instruments and standard operating procedures, generating reports and field tagging as per preventive maintenance schedules. Also maintaining documents in record room like reports, checklists, history cards, raw data, certificates etc. In the performance of my duties I am using different master calibrating instruments like; multi signal simulator cum calibrator, pressure/vacuum calibrator, temperature bath, multi meter, Temp./Humidity chamber, low pressure diff. press. Indicator, conductivity/pH simulator, High-voltage current simulator etc.. Also doing role in change control, deviation, validation, IQ,OQ & PQ and plant instruments list review activities.
5, Fully conversant with different operation or process of machine and equipment with aware of the role of different electronic, electrical and mechanical instrument in it considering its type, construction, operational principle, range, and check points.
6, I am working on different electronic and computer oriented system for faultfinding and configuration like programmable logic controller (PLC) and supervisory control and data acquisition system (SCADA). Also routinely developing different instruments logics and sequences regarding to interlocking circuits and PLC programming. Also working with soft wares, which concerns with calibration, data analysis, display, control and communication.
7, I am also responsible for maintenance of electronic, electrical and mechanical systems and aware of different types of process regarding different machine and equipment like; Reactor, Centrifuge, Filters, crystallizer, HVAC, Distillation columns, Dryers, vacuum pump, Air compressors, Nitrogen generation plant, Process (D.M.) water plant, Boiler, Chilling plants, Diesel generator, Heat recovery system, Tank farms, Cooling tower, Fire hydrant systems, Milling machines, Scrubber, Vacuum ejectors, Mixers, Filling or packing systems, Printing and labeling machine, Compaction machine, Dust collectors etc.
8, I am also routinely working on quality control lab related instruments located on different equipments like; incubators, heating ovens, auto claves, water bath, heating bath, HPLC, gas chromatograph, hardness tester, particle analyzer, dissolution tester, metal detectors, pH & conductivity analyzer etc. Also doing validation related activity of these equipments.
9, Everyday involved in attending breakdowns of systems according to intimations/work orders. Performing new commissioning and installation task regarding to new projects or up gradation work related to systems. Maintaining electronic, electrical & mechanical instrument in workshop and calibration lab. Maintaining records and availability of spares, tracing faulty and under repair instruments & equipments, performance checking of master calibrating electronic instrument, documents maintaining in record room etc.
10, Working with safety regarding to different criteria like fire, health and environment. Working with the instruments and equipments located on different highly concentrated acidic, alkaline and toxic gas area (Hazardous area). Working with the flameproof electronic and electrical instrument located on solvent based plant.
11, Also Checking different electronic and electrical circuits or components with different test equipments Like; I.C., Resistor, capacitor, diode, transistor, transformer, rectifiers, SSR etc. Doing assembling of printed circuit board, soldering of electronic components, voltage and current level checking of electronic circuits etc..
12, Doing maintenance related activity on heavy voltage appliances ( 3 phase system 440 volts ) like: uninterrupted power supplies, variable frequency drives, soft starters, contactors, main circuit breakers, earth leakage circuit breakers, motors, heaters clutch and break assembly etc..
13, Working with different tools for tackling with electronic, electrical and mechanical equipments like; Multimeter, oscilloscope, line tester, spanner, files, pliers, wire striper, crimping tool, drill machine, screw driver, soldering iron, taping set, wise, pipe wrench, hammer, hack saw, vernier caliper, micrometer, tube bender etc. Having skills to perform different tasks for maintenance like; drilling, grinding, cutting, polishing, lapping, soldering, tubing, riveting etc. Having skills to use different appliances used for maintenance of different instruments and equipments like; soldering wire & flux, Teflon tape, insulation tape, different types lubrication oil/ spray/grease/varnish/rubber adhesive, lapping paste, different types PVC/copper/S.S. tubes, fittings, cable trays, diff. flexible and armed cables, lugs etc..
14, Everyday involved in overhauling, servicing, over lapping, replacing the gland packing with plug and seal of different types of control valves and positioners.
