Job Title: Millwright of the flour mills/Conveyors
Key Responsibilities: I initiate and develop strategies plus direct the activities within a Mechanical Engineering section. I am quite familiar with the maintenance philosophies, business principals, planning system, and knowledge of the OHS Act.
I lead a diverse maintenance team which focus on breakdowns and scheduled maintenance. My goal is to have breakdown free plant and assist production at any give time with maintenance related issues. Work is carried out according to the OHS Act and Machinery Act.
I follow a scheduled maintenance plan for the year which is updated regularly to stream line our function. Presently I am using the SAP maintenance package. I work closely with the maintenance controller and planner discussing issues regarding weekly, monthly, three monthly, six monthly, yearly, and shutdown maintenance plan. In emergencies I am able to improvise at times to reduce downtime while adhering to all policies in place. My job involves working together with various other departments and vendors.
Breakdown reports are discussed daily amongst senior maintenance people in the department. Part of my responsibility is to ensure that a training plan is in place for each member in my team, while coordinating their annual leave schedule and standby roster. My performance is rated by using a KPI system.
