2004-Salt River Project (SRP Power) Tempe, Az.
Repair of 2- 8" 2500# Pressure Seal Globe Valves. Factory rep. couldn't figure out what was wrong with it or how to even get it apart. When the engineers created this design on paper, they did not allow for proper expansion between the body and the disc. I re-engineered the internals to allow for proper expansion. As with every repair job, I disassembled the valves, inspected, machined, welded as necessary, grind, lap, polish, repack, reassemble and test. Since these valves were manufactured off shore, parts were not readily available. Therefore, I had to make new custom seal rings.
