Job experience
¡Lifting and rigging a variety of different loads for the construction of off shore jackets and topsides.
¡P Assist with installation of numerous items required for off shore modules. These may include, Valves, Generators, Swicthboards, Spools, Pipes, Wall panels etc. Installation of such items can often be complex, and often requires ¡¥floating¡¦ or ¡¥skating¡¦ a load through a specific part of a module by means of using some of the equipment listed below.
Use a variety of types of rigging equipment and slings to help assist with lifting, pulling and positioning of any such item which is required for installation. These include Chain blocks, pull lifts, turfers, skates, plate clamps, shoes, d-shackles, bow shackles, I bolts and also webbing, wire and chain slings. When performing any action the LOLER and PUWER regulations are always adhered to.
Operate overhead cranes in workshop turning beams, lifting various and complex steel structures. The main structure and base of the module were constructed in these workshops.
Directing, signalling and instructing crane operatives when a load is required to be lifted by crane.

Responsibilities
¡Pre- inspection of all equipment before use.
Adhere to 6 and 12 monthly inspections of all lifting equipment and site colour codes where applicable.
Toolbox talks.
Lift plans
All lifts are secure and correctly rigged. With complex lifts hierarchy maybe involved/informed.

¡P Rigging loads for lifts onto vessel. Loads included, steel slabs, steel plate, pipes, steel coil, metallic frames etc.
¡P Pre-planning the location of each load. If load was then required to be moved, it would be moved into place.
¡P Set up of spreader beams and lifting beams, If a lifting beam was required. These would be used for larger lifts where a regular set of slings would not be suitable as the interior angle of the lift would be greater than 90 degrees, but also for lifting large pieces of plate, for example where shoes and a set of brothers would be used as they can only be used for a straight upward pulling motion.

Responsibilities:
¡P Pre-inspection of all equipment before use.
¡P All lifts correctly rigged, and equipment used in suitable and durable enough for the job required.

Installation of large spools/pipes and valves on refinery, in shutdown.
Top and tailing large vessels and installing them in desired location.
Errection and installation of large steel frames and structures.
