Commissioning engineer for I&E and Production On contract to RAK petroleum as I&E and operations commissioning engineer for the completion of construction then precommissioning/ commissioning of their new two well unmanned production platform in the straits of Humus for the Oman Government(10,000 to 15,000bbl/day West Bukha Field). This also includes the refurbishment of their existing unmanned platform (two wells and 15 yrs old) and tie in of a new 16" subsea pipeline between both platforms. Then introduction of first oil to onshore production facilities at RAK Gas Terminal in Ras Al Khaimah
Responsibilities/
Achievements:
Duties included 1 month as the Simops coordinator on the drilling rig whilst construction is ongoing.
Then moved to commissioning team as I&E commissioning engineer and onto operations for the start up first oil phase.
Duties include Organising the refurbishment of Fire and Gas panels, ESD valves and actuators, complete toxic, smoke and hydrocarbon detection field devices replacement. Installation of navigational aids systems, multi phase metering (ROXAR) and Factory Acceptance Tests on new equipment for the client.
Overseeing precommissioning teams on both platforms ensuring all systems are completed documentation is correctly handed over to the client.
Manage all vendors commissioning activities coordination of vendor visits signing off as customer rep for platform systems as they are commissioned (ups,LV panel,telecom panel,Hima F&Gas panel,WHCP). Setting up operations and maintenance training courses with vendors as required by client.
Due to extensive experience in operations and maintenance fields I have been able to utilise this for the customers benefit when we have been upgrading all systems that were refurbished. This has ensured that the operations and maintenance teams received, well positioned equipment fit for purpose and good access for maintenance procedures.

Position/Title:
Production controller/ team leader Day to day running of a small oil production station (up to 1200
bbls /day) which has a main processing plant and satellite site with production wells. This plant is unique due to the fact we are jet pumping (power fluid) to wells via pipeline to a satellite site at 100.00 Degrees C and at 207 bar with return via two production pipe lines
Also Including road tanker export of crude and export wet gas for further processing Via underground pipe line.
Health and safety and permitting activities are also under my control on a day to day basis.
I have been involved since the commissioning of this plant with Procedure inception and ongoing review as well as implementation of new procedures as they are required.
Generating reports for the client and as well as internal reporting functions for our QA
Auditing of internal systems including permitting and HS&E
I have also been involved in the training and mentoring of the two Horizon Energy trainee operators as well as new operators joining the cheal team.
This position has been a roll on from the construction of the plant as mentioned below.

I was contracted through horizon energy to Austral pacific as a construction supervisor / representative for their new oil and gas production facility on the cheal oil field where my role was permit controller health and safety supervisor and ensuring their contractors were adhering to their contract conditions for work being carried out. It also included site inductions, health and safety requirements weekly meetings and liaison between owner and contractors /vendors and local land owners as this was a brown field site.
We have now completed this production station and which we also pre commissioned and commissioned and have been in production since late August 2007, I am currently contracted to be a production controller on shift for the next two years while they bring on 4 and possibly 8 more wells 'which also could include a water flood project. And probably more production plant to ensure they can keep up with production estimates.
I am a instrument technician/electrician with the last 13 years in process operations including contracting in the oil and gas production and petrochemical industry including servicing production wellheads through to production stations onshore and offshore I have my current HUET ticket and have been worked for Shell Todd oil services on their Maui B gas platform as a production operator overseeing plant tie ins from existing FPSO to the platform treatment plant. I have also been relief production operator on the Shell Todd oil services FPSO
including decommissioning of this vessel.
Through Horizon Energy I completed a contract to Todd Energy Services as a safety supervisor for their Pohokura production project (gas and condensate pipelines) this included being part of their permit to work team overseeing permit issue adherence and auditing protocols, quality control of pipelines and reinstatement work.
I also was also involved in onsite occupation safety and health supervision and training for their contractor personnel.
