2. Singapore Computer Systems, Singapore Feb 2007 to July 2007

This was an up gradation project, client was upgrading R/3 from 4.6c to ECC6 and BW version 3.5 (no change in BW version). The scope of the project was to create a new Source System, Data Source and Info Source for ECC6 and map the data to existing data target. SAP function area covered are FICO and Logistics (Inventory Management and Purchasing).

Role: - Responsible for the completion of UAT, production cut over activities and support during warranty period.

MINDEF/SAF ES Project (Enterprise System Project) was a Ministry of Defence Singapore Project. This was quite huge Project, which involves the implementation of BW and upgrade of R/3 version. In this project my role was in Data Modelling, Design and Reporting. As part of R/3 MM, PM & FI/CO modules were implemented as well.

My contribution also includes several BW reports Data Modelling and Design. This helped in the Analysis, Maintenance of the stock and Statistical & Financial Reports for different cost centres. Most of the reports were customised to meet the user requirements. Source data was extracted from R/3 system and some of the data are from flat files; these data mainly belonged to MM, PM FI/CO modules.

BW was considered better tool to meet their requirement for effective DSS, hence they implemented BW.

EXACT is the add-on module for the tracking and generation of the Export related documents in the Indian Scenario. The Standard SAP R/3 doesn't support the generation of the export documents and the tracking of payment cycle. The responsibility includes the detailed study of Foreign trade Functionality in SD module and the FI module and to identify the gaps where the Indian solution to be incorporated. The LC module handles the payment requirements of any foreign trade either Exports or Imports. All the Import & Export payments are handled through the LC (Letter of Credit).The add-on module has a specific tracking cycle for the negotiation and retirement of LCs.

This was a full life cycle project under the ISO 9001 standards from the feasibility study after the URS. The model adopted was the waterfall model.
