Career Summary:
* Exploration Geoscientist with Reliance Industries Limited, Petroleum E&P Business (India) (www.ril.com), since July, 2005.
* Worked with 2D/3D seismic projects, evaluated prospects, planned surveys and wells, structural, tectonic and stratigraphic interpretation and utilized gravity, magnetic and geologic data both at regional and detailed scale to develop comprehensive geologic models.
* Handled seismic data loading, interpretation, mapping, geologic modeling and 3D visualization applications in both UNIX and Linux environments.
Academic Qualification:
* M.Sc. Geological Sciences from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, West Bengal, India, 2005 (CGPA: 8.74/10 Absolute Grading).
* B.Sc. in Geology from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai University, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, 2003 (74% marks).
* 12th Std. Abu Dhabi Indian School, CBSE Board, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., 2000, 83.8%. (Studied until 12th Std. in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.).
* 10th Std. Abu Dhabi Indian School, CBSE Board, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., 1998, 88.4%.
Academic Achievement:
Awarded a Silver Medal, by IIT Kharagpur for securing the highest CGPA in the Department of Geology and Geophysics, in the M.Sc. batch for the year 2005.
Projects Handled:
* Regional Seismic Interpretation along Western Continental Margin of India: Regional 2D/3D Seismic interpretation, integrating well logs, geologic, gravity and magnetic data resulted in an integrated paleogeography with major tectonic lineaments, fault trends, prospect generation and evaluation for various surveys and exploratory drilling.
* Tectonic Reconstruction and Sedimentalogical Studies along South Western Continental Margin of India, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Seychelles and Antarctica to understand the stratigraphy and tectonic evolution of the margin.
* Sequence Stratigraphic Studies: Carbonate and Clastic Sequence Stratigraphic studies were conducted in a shallow water block of the Kerala-Konkan Basin to understand the relation between the major sequence boundaries with sea-level fluctuations and to major tectonic episodes.
* Crustal Modelling Studies: Geologic Models developed from Gravity and Magnetic Modelling on integration with regional tectonic understanding resulted in predicting the nature of crust, continent-ocean boundary, transition zone, crustal thinning and basin architecture.
* Integrated Prospectivity Analysis: To rapidly evaluate the prospectivity of the RIL offshore acreages SAR images were interpreted to identify offshore seepages and correlate with seismic to identify the possible zones of seepage from the seabed. Multibeam bathymetry and backscatter surveys were carried out to ascertain the existence of pock marks and plan for seabed coring and geochemical studies.
* Prospect Evaluation: Basin analysis and technical evaluation of prospects and volumetrics for new acreages in the Western Continental Margin of India and offshore Australia.
Practical Field Training and Workshop:
* Clastic Sequence Stratigraphy, by Dr. Venkat Kolla.
* Satellite Aperture Radar Imagery Interpretation Techniques, Seepage-Slick analysis, classification, interpretation and Seep-Seismic Correlation for Hydrocarbon Seepage Identification techniques with Mr. John Berry, John Berry & Associates.
* Client Representative for Quality Contol of Shallow Hazard Site Survey, Seabed Piston Coring and Heat Flow measurements and Controlled Source Electromagnetic Survey.
* Elementary First Aid, Sea Survival training, Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting, Helicopter Under-water Escape training at Naval Maritime Academy, Mumbai and Shipping Corporation of India, Mumbai.
Professional Software Training:
* Training in the use and application of interpretation and modeling softwares of the Open Works Suite like SeisWorks, Z-Map Plus, PostStack/Pal, DepthTeam Express, StratWorks and GeoProbe under the guidance of Landmark Professionals at RIL, Mumbai, India.
Workstation Skills:
* Capable of handling various application softwares under Windows, UNIX and LINUX environments.
* Acquired data management and data loading skills with OpenWorks data base systems.
* Trained in handling data management and other applications in GIS Softwares like ArcGIS, Erdas, Idrisi 32.
M.Sc. Dissertation Thesis:
Paleo-oceanographic and paleo-climatic evolution of DSDP Site 238 during the Early Pliocene (using benthic foraminifers).
