I obtained my senior certificate. I worked for 5yrs+ in the mining industry. The first 16months as awarehouse attendant and transit clerk. April 2004-August 2008 I was employed as a laboratory assistant(chemical & metallurgical). After a few months in the laboratory, I was designated as the laboratory safety coordinator, which also became my full-time position in the laboratory. I obtained a NOSA SAMTRAC certificate(NQF5). In 2009 I temporarily worked for a corrosion protection/construction company as a safety officer. I have +-5yrs experience in Safety(SHEQ) Management. I have good working knowledge and experience of standards eg; OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and CMB001(NOSA SHEQ Management standard). I have knowledge of the OHSACT(including construction regulations), Mine Health & Safety Act, Minerals Act, Behavioral Based Safety Management as well as basic knowledge of Maritime Regulations.
