First and foremost, I am a Mechanical/Production Engineer by training and profession from a very renowned tertiary institution. I am also a Pipe Inspector/CNC Lathe Operator, who is driven by the curiosity about the seeming complex challenges facing today's Oil & Gas sector, as regards new technological research methods and how best to surmount those challenges in an eco-friendly manner.
At Tenaris Global Services Nigeria, I have machined and inspected numerous thread connections on steel pipes/tubular and OCTG's where standard practices are upheld by every staff, as the Company policy is likened to individual policy. Arising from that background, I will definitely ensure that your Organization's standard objectives and principles govern our every task in achieving the desired end result at all times. There will also be room for revolutionary outside-the-box thinking, for devising new and cost effective methods that will in no way deviate from the Organization's policies. During my time at the company mentioned above, we experienced unprecedented heights in output (Threaded pipes) production both locally and internationally than was ever recorded, even till date. »WORK EXPERIENCE
* Worked with Tenaris Global Services Nigeria Ltd; April 2005 – Jan 2008. Completely involved throughout the production process, beginning with the receipt of the plain end welded/seamless steel pipes from an approved mill or customer, till delivery to the expected customer. These pipe diameters usually range from; (2, 4.5, 5, 7, 13.375) inches and above.
* Head of my production shift throughout this period, where I liaise with the gauge room to get ready all the required calibrated measurement gauges for the next work order, when nearing completion of the job at hand to ensure synergy. If the new batch requires swaging, I make sure the process is carried out in advance and is stacked close-by. The internal and external diameter of each pipe is measured to make sure it meets the standard required.
* In any subsequent transition of thread connections needing cutting tool set-up and new program upload, a test cut is carried out to make sure the axial and cutting planes are perfect, then production run begins after confirming the thread form using the inspection mould to compare with the specified overlay on the optical projector. After I certify each pipe (full-length/pup- joint/crossover) and thread connection conform to the standards using the latest revised inspection method document, I actuate each pipe into the special end area machine to undergo a wet magnetic particle inspection process (WMPI) and ascertain the thread connection integrity.

* The next stage called phosphatising is optional, if stated by the customer, where the steel pipes are lowered into a pre-heated and electronically regulated temperature phosphate bath, to give the pipe connection extra residual properties. From here, it moves to the make-up machine which I fully operate, which involves mating of the connection end and a coupling to achieve an acceptable range of specified make-up connection torque. Drifting, stenciling & marking, full-length measurement, doping and stacking in that order is overseen by me.
