Objective
Seeking an offshore position in materials and logistics where I can continue to gain valuable knowledge and experience to enhance my professional career.
Profile
A Materials and Logistics Co-ordinator who has worked in the offshore industry for over 4 years, an Ex-Royal Naval serviceman, who is a highly professional and motivated individual, with an excellent work ethic, great determination to succeed and who is committed to participate with any company safety initiatives or awareness schemes.
Career History to Date
September 2009 - Present Day: - Assigned to Wood Group via Shape Personnel, on Talisman's Tartan Alpha, as Project Materials Controller. Managing all shut down related materials and construction department requisitions, to ensure timely delivery of all orders and raw materials, to their required locations and therefore maintaining the project schedule.
August 2009 - September 2009: - PMC (Platform Materials Controller) / Heli Admin on Talisman's Arbroath Platform. Here I was responsible for all logistical movements, of freight and personnel to and from the installation. Having to contribute to planning and permit meetings, and provide accurate information on operational requirements and vessel movements where also part of my daily routine.
July 2009 - August 2009: - Seawell requested my services, to provide short term cover as Materials Co-ordinator on Chevron's Alba North Platform, contracted through Global Resources.
February 2009 – July 2009: - Returned to Seawell at the request of senior management, to work as Materials Co-ordinator on the Forties Bravo upgrade project.
Unfortunately I was made redundant due to the falling price of oil and the global economic crisis
October 2008 – February 2009: - Due to the lack of promotion opportunities I departed Seawell and joined Global Resources, contracted out to KCA Deutag as a Services / Materials Co-ordinator, on board the BP Harding. Working in conjunction with my back to back, we were responsible for the running of the stores and all logistical movements for the drilling package on the platform
May 2006 - October 2008: - Employed by Noble Drilling as a Roustabout on Apache's Forties Field. Because of my previous stores experience and the knowledge I had gained in drilling, decided to pursue a career in materials. I received tuition from the materials man in my free time and learnt the systems and procedures whilst off shift. I then got promoted internally to Assistant Materials Controller taking responsibility for the creation of manifests, keeping the N.I.C.S system up to date and dealing with the requisition requests of the drill crew. In April 2008 Noble's drilling interests were acquired by Seawell.
December 2005 - May 2006: - Roustabout for Transocean on BP's Paul B Lloyd Junior, a semi-submersible west of Shetland. My work included banking the crane using radios and hand signals, checking manifests were correct whilst working the supply vessels, identifying backload and securing into relevant containers, Heli-deck work and general house keeping duties.
December 2005: - Passed Transocean's 2 week Green Hand Roustabout program. A course designed for training personnel who are new to the offshore drilling industry
July 2005 - November 2005: - Initially started offshore as a Steward, for Eurest catering services on Britannia's Safe Scandinavia accommodation barge and AGIP's Balmoral Floating Production Vessel. To gain incite, experience and lay a foundation upon which I could build my offshore career
March 2004 - July 2005: - Worked for the family business "Winch systems LTD" as part of the sales and dispatch team. Work included the creation of invoices and purchase orders, liaising with curriers, to coordinate the timely delivery of orders and raw materials, from requisition to required location, utilizing various forms of media to create brochures and mail shots to distribute to our clients.
November 1999 - February 2004: - Served in the Royal Navy as an Operator Mechanic in the Communications branch. As a Communicator I sent and received all the signal traffic to and from other units, so a large proportion of my job was focused upon the use of I.T equipment. Furthermore as part of my duties I was expected to man the tactical voice radio circuit, to relay critical information around the fleet. I also acted as a bridge watch keeper, therefore trained in the use of the V.H.F, U.H.F and G.M.D.S.S radio equipment and procedures.
