Objective:
A contract position in the area of, QA/QC co-ordinator, Supervisor, Superintendent, inspector. Inspector of structural steel, pressure vessel, welding, piping inspection, Boiler inspection, non-destructive examination, quality assurance, quality control and vendor surveillance. Prefer long term assignment.
Summary:
I am an international QA/QC inspector of structural steel, pressure vessels (certified API-510), Piping certified API-570, Tanks certified API-653, welding inspector (Certified by AWS). I have, in excess of 25 years experience as an inspector, supervisor of NDE, Training of welders on stainless steels and nickel, duplex steels and dissimilar welding. I can write pre heat and post weld heat procedures. I am a "hands on in the field" inspector, helping welders to qualify on "exotic" stainless steels and nickel. I have experience in developing Welding Procedures Specifications and Procedure Qualification Records. I have experience in working with and training welders in developing and third world nations. My experience extends to LNG, oil refineries, chemical plants world wide. I have experience in turnarounds and run and maintain inspection and construction. I teach welding and inspection techniques to companies world wide.

1993 to Present: Independent Contractor
As an Independent Contractor, I have reviewed and analyzed corrosion histories and HAZOP studies to determine potential problems. I have developed testing and inspection procedures to ensure mechanical integrity of process equipment and piping per OSHA29CFR1910-119. I have interfaced with refinery engineering departments when significant corrosion discrepancies in metallurgy are found. I inspect within the API-510 and ASME Sec VIII codes. I write detailed inspection reports, recommend repairs or replacement of equipment, specify materials, welding electrodes etc to be used. I have contracted my services to:

Inspection consultant
Interfaced with KNPC engineering and inspection Dept. on the after war damages and subsequent turnaround and construction within their three (3) refineries. I set the extent and frequency of inspection for all pressure retaining equipment. This includes writing an evaluation of the inspection work done by contract inspectors. I coordinated between the refiners contract maintenance people and the engineering depts.

Inspector Technical Advisor
Responsibilities include providing inspection services to refineries worldwide. To record and report on the condition of equipment as found. I recommended repairs or alterations to assure code compliance. With UOP Management Services I was the Superintendent of Inspection for the Nigerian National Petroleum Co. at Port Harcourt Nigeria for two (2) years.; I was also the chief technical advisor for CEPSA refineries in SPAIN for an H.F. Alkylation unit construction and start – up operation. Technical Advisor for Modules consturction in S. Korea (Hyundai Ship yard) 6 months.

Refinery Superintendent
Promoted from Shift Supervisor, I was responsible for the day to day operation of a 60,000 barrel per day UOP, FCCU and all down stream units. This included a dimersol and MTBE units. The daily work schedule and training on shift operators.
1982 – 1984: Great Plaines Gasification Associates, Buelah, North Dakota
Responsible for the day to day management of a corporate inspection group. I supervised the construction inspection group. My responsibilities included pressure vessel inspection to ascertain they and the associated piping met code specifications. I was involved in pressure relief valves to assure compliance with quality control programs. I was involved with the pre-commissioning and commissioning of the first commercial coal gasification plant in the U.S.
1965 – 1982 Ashland Oil and Refining Co.
As the Number one operator in charge of the FCCU and Gas concentration units I was responsible for the safe shut down and clean out and the subsequent start up of the units. I was involved with shutdown planning, frequency of inspection of all process equipment and piping. I planned and directed and evaluated inspection work performed by contract inspectors. I have experience with FCCU, Gas concentration units, Platformers, Storage Tanks, both pressurized and atmospheric. Amine absorbers, Merox treaters, Boilers and furnaces.
