EDUCATION:
Batchelor's Degree in Geology from UCLA, Master's Degree in Geology from USC, and sufficient graduate geology course work at USC (post-Master's) and the Univ. of Calgary,
Alta., Canada for a PhD in geology.

30 years O & G Exploration, including:
07 years as a Carbonate Stratigrapher (depositional environment reconstructions)
15 years working in with Near-Surface, Geochem-related tools & their interpretation
05 years as International Division Geologist
03 years as partner in two-man Petroleum Exploration consulting firm (drilled 2 wells)
05 years as independent petroleum consulting geologist
12 years as a consulting environmental geologist in Michigan (independent & staff level)
QUESTION FOR EXPLORATION MANAGER:
Why drill, participate in, acquire parcels with structures that are likely to be barren (water-bearing or tight) or phantom, when you can do the same with features [structural or strati- graphic] that have a high CAV [Content Assessment Value]? That is, target both structures and hydrocarbons.

READING & BATES PETROLEUM COMPANY 11/79 TO 05/84
Technically responsible for directing R&B's international exploration efforts. Instrumental in getting R&B
into the following New Venture Frontier Areas of participation: Offshore BRAZIL [operator through seismic], Offshore MALTA Block 8 [operator through drilling, deep water], DUTCH NORTH SEA, two permits Offshore WESTERN AUSTRALIA, Onshore COLOMBIA, and Offshore SRI LANKA. Of the seven, three permits yielded oil discoveries of commercial magnitude.
Conduct and supervise routine evaluations of numerous blocks and areas throughout the then free world.
Organize and conduct numerous business trips [6-8 per year] to various State Oil Company and govern-
ment offices, other oil company foreign offices [to make or hear presentations], national geological sur-
vey offices, etc. Meet with officials, Designated Authorities and their technical staffs. Assess and gather all forms of exploration data, both on foreign location and in U.S. Headquarters. Assist with negotiations on Permits.
Act as R&B representative for both Operating Committees and Technical Committees on Joint Venture
Agreements.
Conduct Farm-Out Sales trips internationally and domestically, and make routine oral presentations of technical merits of R&B blocks/concessions.
Responsible for all final map and montage layouts, and any auxiliary illustration preparations, to be used at Operator's Meetings, and for farm-out sales presentations.
Accompany R&B's president, partner Company president[s], and VP's overseas to make technical pre-
sentations to foreign government officials.

Temporary [3 months] overseas assignment in Perth, Western Australia for Arafura Sea wildcat wells to facilitate U.S. Headquarters and partners communications, transmit logs via courier, maintain radio contact with drillship, and charter plane/courier critical cores to a Singapore lab for special thermal maturity studies of fossilized spores and other organic debris in Late Precambrian rocks.
OASIS OIL COMPANY OF LIBYA [Continental/Marathon/Amerada] 03/63 – 03/66
WELLSITE GEOLOGIST [2 years] - Sahara Desert, wildcat and development wells
Total on-location responsibility for drilling, coring, loging and drill stem testing operations on remote desert wildcat rigs. Stand 12-hour wellsite tours, supervise Core Lab or Baroid geologist/mud logger. Full wellsite supervision, and responsibility for all on-site decisions. Prepare and make daily wellsite radio reports to supervisor [of 25 wildcat rigs] in Tripoli.
CARBONATE STRATIGRAPHER [1 year] - Oasis Geological Laboratory, Tripoli
Perform drill cuttings and core sample Microfacies Analyses, Depo-Environmental Reconstructions of Libyan Tertiary Carbonate stratigraphic sequences. Porosity trend mapping. Thin section studies as required.
RALPH M. PARSONS COMPANY [Ethiopia/Eritrea] 09-60 to 09/61
FIELD GEOLOGIST [1 year]
Evaporite minerals [primarily potash ores] exploration in the Danakil Depression of eastern Ethiopia-Eritrea. Logging of evaporite mineral cores. Conduct radio-assays [scintillation de-tector] for potash minerals at selected orebody depths [field camp analysis]. Send ground cores to Asmara lab for chemical assay. Also, groundwater exploration and development utilizing a cable-tool drilling rig [alluvial fan wells]. Conducted and supervised Road Site survey from location of orebodies [in Rift-Valley Depression] to the Red Sea Coast. On-board supervision of Harborsite Surveys along Red Sea Coast [for anticipated ore loading facilities].
Took depth soundings and cored shallow bottom sediments [for depth to bedrock] from on-
board an Ethiopian Naval Patrol Boat [former U.S. Coast Guard Cutter], and from a specially-rigged work vessel [converted local cargo vessel]. Supervised two surveyors on shore who triangulated ship's position from an established baseline at time of boat whistle signal.
Prepared field maps and notes. Worked under direction of Harbor Engineer [consultant to
Parsons].
