EXPERIENCE SUMMARY:

I have been involved with and led over 100 environmental projects in Australia, Korea, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Nigeria, Russia, and the USA. Clients have included major Government and industrial organisations including Shell operated exploration & production companies in Oman, Nigeria and Russia. Other major customers include the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Dubai Natural Gas Company, Alcoa, Australian Federal Government, Qld Copper Refineries, Collex, Dupont, CSR, TNT, Westinghouse, the Federal Airports Corporation, Tubemakers, James Hardie Industries, Southern Cross Machinery and the National Rail Corporation.

In 1998/99, I was the Environmental Manager to the Dubai Natural Gas Company, a natural gas processing and petrochemical manufacturing plant in the United Arab Emirates. During this period I was also retained by Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) to provide advice on developing an EMS and integrating it with their existing ISO certified Quality Management System for the company's electrical sub-station manufacture and turbine maintenance operations throughout the UAE and Kuwait.

From 1999 to 2002 I was the Director for Environment for EMU International Pty Ltd. Within this position I provided EMS and integrated HSE MS advice and solutions to the Shell operated companies in Oman and Nigeria towards ISO14001 certification. I was also the Project Manager for Environmental Impact Assessment for the $1 billion Ras Laffan Power Station and Desalination Plant Project in Qatar.

In 2002 I moved jobs to specifically oversee and co-ordinate the design, development and implementation of an integrated Health, Safety and Environmental Management System (HSE MS) for the Sakhalin Energy Investment Company as it commenced the largest integrated oil & gas development project in the history. The rapidly changing HSE risk profile & unique set of climatic conditions associated with this $US15 billion project represented a pinnacle of management system application.

In late 2003 I took the role as the National Environment Manager for General Motors Holden automotive manufacturing and distribution operations in Australia & New Zealand. This position focused on the development of a Strategic Environmental Plan and an assessment of suitability & effectiveness of the existing EMS at the organisation's engine and vehicle manufacturing & distribution facilities.

In 2004 I was employed under short-term contract as an Environmental Engineering Manager for the Zakum Development Company (ZADCO). ZADCO is the offshore arm for the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) that operates E&P activities in the World's 4th largest oil field off the coast of Abu Dhabi. The company operates both manned and remotely controlled production and injection well platforms, subsea pipelines, marine logistics, an oil/gas processing plant, and tanker loading terminal facilities.

Early in my professional career I was employed first as an officer with the Department of Environment, and then as a Consultant with a series of engineering companies in Australia. As a Senior Environmental Consultant with Maunsell Engineers in Brisbane I was responsible for environmental auditing, environmental compliance management, contaminated land & remediation, and the emerging market of developing Environmental Management Systems to meet a new and little known standard at that time, ISO14001.
