Developing INTEQ Drilling Fluids business in Libya. This entailed developing a rapport with the both international and local operating companies. Co-ordinating operations, required engineers, and logistics. Developing tenders both technically and commercially. Ensuring that all technical and commercial aspects of the operation are within acceptable parameters. Introducing new technologies to the district. (One month secondment to Australia)
Achievements:
- Introduce the first “international” fluids company into Libya, since the embargo was lifted.
- Won first drilling fluid tender for INTEQ in Libya
- Provided the drilling fluid service on two projects to date
- Introduce the first new drilling fluid system into Libya for more than 10 years. (a clouding glycol fluid)
- Oversaw a lab development project for a water-based fluid to drill the build section through sloughing shales. Conventional wisdom suggested only an OBM fluid could be used. The section was successfully drilled and cased
- Designed a economical drill-in fluid to drill a the longest horizontal onshore section in Libya
- Introduction Support on new Ester Mud system Australia
