Sampling and testing of drinking water for chlorine, bacteria, TDS, etc. The monitoring and adjustment of treating chemical rates such as corrosion * Spent one year as Production Chemist on the Petrojarl, a Floating Storage and Production Unit operated by Amerada Hess, in the North Sea. Duties involved quality control of the produced crude oil (Density, water, salt content, RVP, etc.), monitoring the produced water for environmental regulations such as oil content, monitoring treating chemical injection rates and the general running of the laboratory. * Trained production staff on the Ninian Central Platform operated by Chevron in laboratory testing. * Trained production staff on the Heather Alpha Platform operated by Unocal in laboratory testing. * Set up two Petroleum testing laboratories and trained small laboratory staff in St.Petersburg and Tuapse, Russia in May 1992. * Part of the laboratory installation team for the Great Man Made River Project water testing laboratory in Benghazi, Libya in 1994. * Obtained Offshore Survival Certification at Robert Gordon's University. 1994 - 9 Caleb Brett (Oil Inspection and Testing Company), St.Eustatius, Netherlands Antilles Laboratory Manager * Responsible for running of the busy petroleum testing laboratory.
