OBJECTIVE
Staff Petrophysicist position utilizing my wide range of skills in petrophysics with over 20 years experience working in many parts of the world.
EDUCATION
B.S., Geological Engineering, Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colorado, Dec, 1986
EXPERIENCE
1. Chevron Energy Technology Company – Houston, Texas (Jan 2006 to Present)
Petrophysicist Advisor – Rock Mechanics Team, working on Chevron worldwide projects including high profile and mega projects, strategic research and rock mechanics technical development, providing petrophysical supports and consultation, and working together with the teams, research scientists and business units in rock mechanical properties areas, well bore stability, sanding, overburden gradient, fracture gradient, rock properties, fluid substitution, horizontal stresses from multi-armed caliper, borehole image and advanced acoustic logs, Mechanical Earth Modeling, and real time rock mechanics properties support for operation application in major projects.
2. Unocal Indonesia Deepwater Development – Jakarta (2003 to Jan 2006)
Petrophysicist Advisor, worked on the first Unocal deepwater development and the first deepwater field development in Indonesia, established the petrophysical model, reconciled the model to the core data, formation test, production, and engineering volumetric estimations, produced petrophysical properties for the earth model and reservoir modeling, rock mechanic and petro-acoustic properties for completion design and for seismic modeling. Assisted the operations of the development wells on petrophysical aspects, and worked in cross functional team in building the 3D geological model, reserve audit, and field depletion plan.
3. Gulf of Mexico Deepwater Operations and Appraisal – Houston (2001 to 2003)
Lead petrophysicist for Unocal Gulf of Mexico Deepwater Business Unit in Houston, supported the Discoverer Spirit drilling operations, one of the most expensive rigs in the world. Responsible for all U.S. deepwater petrophysical evaluation, and well evaluation planning (Pre-drill programs), operations, look-back and regular presentation to partners, supported the regional study including litho-fluid and petro-acoustic project for the major regional seismic lines in the Gulf of Mexico, data room and deepwater field appraisal programs.
4. Unocal Gulf of Mexico Region (Legacy Assets) – Lafayette (2000 to 2001)
Worked as one of chief geologist's staffs in Lafayette, Louisiana to provide petrophysical supports for all producing assets, Western Gulf, Central Gulf, Eastern Gulf, Mobile Bay, On-shore East Texas, and On-shore Louisiana, with various responsibilities including operations, field study, look back, and low resistivity study to rejuvenate old fields looking at both open and cased hole data both in clastics and carbonate.
5. Unocal – Exploration and Production Technology – Houston (1999 – 2000)
Worked as resource Petrophysicist, helped the international group in Houston to work on international projects mainly data room evaluation in bid-rounds and joined evaluation with partners in the regions including Equatorial New Guineas in West Africa, Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela.
6. Unocal Indonesia Business Unit – Balikpapan (1996 – 1999)
Lead petrophysicist for the Indonesia Business Unit to support all development and exploration drilling programs, the main responsibility was to help the ambitious Unocal's "Saturated Exploration Drilling Campaign" well evaluation with very quick turn around time on heavy work load, 135 wells drilled in one year. Introduced new evaluation technique called "Rock Catalogue" to enable well evaluation to estimate reservoir properties, facies, fluid type and productivity done in a very short time. Other responsibility was to support the field certifications.
7. Unocal Indonesia Business Unit – Balikpapan (1990 – 1996)
Petrophysisict, worked on Development wells in the Attaka, Sepinggan, Yakin, Melahin, Kerindingan, Serang and Santan fields in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. The works included on-site supervising logging jobs, standards log data processing, QA and QC, environmental correction, running petrophysical program GeoFrame, tying core, formation test result and production to log interpretation, generating synthetic curves for geophysical applications.
8. Unocal Corporation – International Division – Los Angeles (1989-1990)
Log analysis training at the Unocal head office in Los Angeles, helped the International operation group working on real data from many parts of regions including Indonesia, Thailand, Bangladesh and Middle East.
9. Unocal Indonesia – Balikpapan (1987 – 1989)
Geologist, worked mainly on monitoring well operations in exploration and development wells, on-site drilling and well logging supervision, day to day well reporting on geological aspects, field electric logging report on each completion of logging job, and geological mapping.
