Biography
Simon graduated from the University of Buea with a B.Sc. Hons. Degree in Geology. He joined the Rural Medical and Environmental Foundation (RUMELF) in Buea and when he left in 2004, he had attained the position of a Geoenvironmentalist. When he left RUMELF he resumed studies at Vrije University Amsterdam where he obtained his Master Degree in Geosciences. Presently, Simon is pursuing a Master Degree in GIS at the University of Central Arkansas. He is also working as a graduate assistant in the H.L. Minton laboratory of Geospatial technology and analysis.

1 Relation to geodymics drivers (listhosphere composition, spreding rate, etc.)
2 Geometric variety of synrift morphology and sedimentary response.
3 Evolution of basin tectonics through early and late synrift stages.
Basin analysis
ƒxRelating basin stages and sedimentary cycles to geodymic drivers.
ƒxPrepare a diagram that summaries the evolution of each basins, giving the stages, simplified stratigraphic sequence, geodynamic drivers, type and periods of tectonic activity( extension, quiescence, compression, etc.)
ƒx Correlate the basins using the above information.
ƒx Identification of petroleum systems that are or could be present.
ƒx Identification of existing fields (a) the main reservoir formation (b) main lithofacies and classify them into plays.
ƒx Relating the plays to petroleum system types and plot them on a trajectory plot.
ƒx Grouping plays and predicting which proven, potential and hypothetical plays might be present in the basins.
ƒx Characteration of various lithofacies present in terms of impact on source, reservoir and seal developent, type and quality.
GIS Skills:
Presently, I am a graduate assistant in the H.L. Minton Center for Geospatial Analysis and Research in the University of Central. I have the following experience(s):
Map digitization
Spatial Adjustment and georeferencing.
Spatial data analysis (both univariate and multivariate methods)
Geodatabases
Map creation etc.
Presently I am working on the Minnesota and Nebraska maps, digitizing rail roads and spatial adjustment.

Computer skills

- Good command: GIS: ESRI ArcGIS 9.x, GEODA, GPS, Petrel, kingdom suite.
