Senior Drilling Fluids engineer working with oil/water based fluid, brines and filtration techniques associated with completion operations. Since Jan 2004 I have also been working with Exxon Mobil/Shell performing Dielectric Constant Measurements to identify unstable formations. For Exxon I have worked in the Beryl Field (Alpha and Bravo) and for Shell on the Merganser East development on the JW Maclean.

1982-1988: Gearhart Geodata Services Ltd, Howe Moss Drive
Data Engineer (Unit Manager) working with PDP11 computers using Fortran 4. Responsible for data acquisition, formation evaluation, pressure predictions, hydraulics calculations, swab surge calculations and the running and manning of the unit. As a senior data engineer I was responsible for good liaison with the operator, running of the unit including stock taking, sensor repair, liaison with onshore and the welfare and appraisal of my offshore crew. I was also involved in many unit installations on various rigs and platforms. Throughout my career with Gearhart I worked on all types of units and wells with H2S, HPHT, brine flows, gas kicks and directional problems. Some of the projects I worked on were:-
1981- 1983 - BP West Sole Development wells.
1983-1984 BP Buchan Exploration wells.
1984 -1985 Phillips Joanne field (HP/HT carb reservoir)
1985 - 1986 BP Bruce exploration and development/Gas council Bournemouth
1986 - 1988 Southern Gas Basin exploration wells with Phillips and Fina

Mudlogging Engineer - my duties involved the monitoring, collection and interpretation of geological and drilling data from an array of sensors. Other duties involved the preparation of geological samples, mudlogs and the compilation of reports for the operator.
