I started out as a Y.T.S trainee in the stores, after 2 years I was taken on as an asst. storeman. my main duties were the general housekeeping duties of the stores and surrounding areas. also keeping the store at an optimum equipment and stock level. also assisting in meetings with dock and ship managers, as to the various stock required for certain jobs. Ordering of stock over the phone, or with reps, taking delivery and checking off the invoice. Also the movement of stock between its sister yard. Took over head storemans job after he retired in 1995.
