Geophysicist Occidental Petroleum Inc., Oxy Permian, Houston, TX
Exploration and Exploitation Team Feb. 2008 – present

1) Involved extensively with 2D and 3D seismic data interpretation, geophysical attributes analysis, well data calibration to seismic; depth conversion, seismic facies analysis, stratigraphy and thickness analysis for understanding reservoir characteristics
2) Evaluated acoustic impedance properties and porosity distribution and combined them with geological facies models from well and core data;
3) Performed curvature and ant tracking analysis to detect fault/fractures for the determination of potential drilling sites and identified drilling risks with geologists. Assisted reservoir engineers for planning horizontal wells.
4) Participated in economic analysis on reserve calculation, well production, and 3D seismic acquisition acreage.
5) Participated in Permian 3D field seismic data shooting and acquisition in West Texas. Consulted in discussions regarding field parameters and preliminary field data processing.

Integrated Reservoir Management Group Feb. 2007– Feb. 2008
1) Provided geophysical support for production geologists and reservoir engineers; extensively interpreted both 2D and 3D seismic datasets in the Permian basin.
2) Integrated seismic stratigraphic framework within sequence stratigraphy using well data. Generated synthetics and well ties, in addition to constructing velocity models and performing depth conversions.
3) Performed porosity inversion with integration of well logs and impedance models
4) Helped the company to add three infill wells and one step-out well for additional production.
