Serve the implementation and qualification of the company for an Integrated Safety Management system in compliance with ISO 9001, OSHAS 18001 and ISO 14001.
Conduct regular safety orientation to new employees and contractors prior to joining and start of work activities within the premise of the complex. Serves the implementation and training for fire and safety hazard identification (Hazid) tasks, risk assessment, job safety analysis, HazOp reviews, accident and incident investigation in order to identify and establish control measures on potential high risk contributing factors in the prevention and control of loss of life and property and harm to the environment.
Oversee the emergency preparedness of the whole complex. Co-author and custodian of the company's Emergency Control Plan. Administers the fire department, the emergency response team, the inventory and periodic maintenance of the fire and safety mitigation systems and equipment, conducts fire and safety risk assessment of the complex's facilities and coordinates emergency response drills with the mutual aid and the local authorities having jurisdiction. Plans the training matrix of emergency response team and recommends the acquisition of fire and safety mitigation equipments of the complex e.g. firefighting equipment (fire truck, bunker gears, SCBA), hazmat equipment, de-con equipment, radiation safety equipment and rescue safety equipment based on annual capital expenditures allocation submitted.
Served as Radiation Safety Officer in the absence of the radiation safety officer in-charge during entry of isotopes into the plant premises and where radiography is to take place.
Served as EPC-Technical Safety Engineer Specialist working with Fluor B.V.- Netherlands representing the end user TASNEE Petrochemical Loss Control Section for its fire, environmental and safety concerns during the EPC expansion project of the new Ethylene Cracker Plant, High Density and Low Density Polymerization Plants providing front end engineering design (FEED) inputs, engineering design reviews and system commissioning approval and acceptance of all related safety requirements; e.g. safety philosophy approach, fire protection analysis, process safety analysis, active and passive fire protection systems application, safety and emergency mitigation systems with reference to the requirements of the prevailing codes such as the NFPA, API, DNV, OSHA, HSE Guidelines and the local authority having jurisdiction.
