Commissioning, start-up/testing and certification of UL/FM listed fire pump related equipment such as controllers, automatic transfer switches, emergency, stand-by power supplies, water supply connection type, fire department connection, location and piping arrangement characteristics for diesel and electric-drive centrifugal fire pumps and jockey pumps, controllers, per NFPA 20 (Installation of Stationary Fire Pumps for Fire Protection), Federal, State and Local authorities, fire departments, and insurance companies and other standards currently in effect.
Perform fire pump flow test and apply the basic principles of hydraulics of water-based fire suppression systems. Conduct troubleshooting, inspections, preventive maintenance, corrective repairs and rebuilds, test fire protection system special valves such as pressure reducing valves, pressure relief valve, suction control valve, air release valves, altitude valves, deluge-type valves, and solenoid valves. Testing, inspection and corrective repairs for domestic water booster systems and related equipment such as controllers, motor, pumps and piping arrangement, draw free-hand sketches to describe hazards which might need special protection or require immediate system modifications, report and document any and all system abnormalities.
