Job experience:
BP AZERBAIJAN (ACG oil & gas field, Caspian Sea)
Production Geologist (Dec, 2008 – up to now; Baku, Azerbaijan)
Responsibilities:
- Detailed well log correlation using pressure data in order to understand sand distribution and flow units within the reservoir;
- Creating rock properties map (NTG, Porosity);
- Creating Common Risk Segment (CRS) maps based on rock properties maps;
- Creating pressure maps using Simulation model, RFT and PBU data;
- Creating structure maps for reservoir sections based on STOIIP geological model (with all drilled wells and contacts);
- Updating well status map as new wells are drilled;
- Analyzing new pressure data in order to understand the depletion of reservoir (one page pressure summary);
- Creating GOR maps based on well test data;
- Wells interactions analysis based on test, production, pressure, temperature data;
- Oil-water contacts revision (updating on structure map).
Geologist (Dec, 2007 – Dec, 2008; London, UK)
Responsibilities:
Pressure data consolidation and analysis:
- Detailed integrated interpretation of well logs, depth vs pressure plots, location maps, pressure breaks;
- Create field wide maps showing: location of pressure data collected wells, pressure breaks and dynamic gradient within reservoir section;
- Build geological flow unit models to explain pressure behavior within the reservoir;
- Compare and contrast observations with neighboring oil field's pressure behavior and understanding of flow units.
Testing Geo2Seis (creating synthetic seismic from stochastic geological model):
- Synthetic volumes were created from different stochastic options;
- Attribute maps of both synthetic and real seismic volumes of area of interest were created and compared against each other. The results were analyzed and best matching synthetic volume was chosen for future applications.
Reservoir quality prediction using seismic data:
- Seismic interpretation of reprocessed and inverted seismic volumes to explore potential for seismic to enhance fluid and lithology interpretation of the reservoir series;
- Seismic surfaces mapped at top/base reservoir layers;
- Confirming well-seismic ties to the various seismic volumes;
- Creating attribute maps (from nears, fars and full offset volumes), subsequent integration with well data and existing property maps to determine appropriate level of use of attributes;
- Calibrated well data with the range of seismic attributes, including AI/GI.
Geologist (Jun-Dec, 2007; Baku, Azerbaijan)
Responsibilities:
- Correlation of well logs (sand-shale environment);
- Creating CRS style maps (NTG, Porosity) of correlatable sand units;
- Picking same horizons in different type seismic volumes, creating attribute maps and comparing them against CRS style maps.
