I am applying for the job position of Roustabout or Roughneck. Although I have no offshore experience I know I will be a valuable asset. I have a strong desire to begin a new career in the oil industry and meet all requirements listed for this position.

My understanding is that work on an offshore oil rig is an extremely physically demanding job. I honestly look forward to work such as this, and I know I meet the requirements as I have been a weight lifter and personal trainer for several years. I also understand that one must possess the ability to work with people of various cultures and backgrounds. More than half of my life has been spent living in various parts of Asia, and as a result I am knowledgeable and aware of the cultural and ethnic differences others have.

I am very excited to start this new career. My desire in starting as a roustabout or roughneck is to put myself in a position to learn and develop myself to be a greater asset to the company I work for. I am very willing to relocate to any national or international location.

I would like to take this opportunity to be forward about a couple subjects. As I have grown up overseas I never spent enough time in the USA or went back often enough to complete my driver's license. I now have my Minnesota Instruction Permit and must wait till January 2010 to take my driving exam. I previously held a Malaysian drivers license for 2 years, but that has been expired for many years now. As I am currently living in Shanghai, China it will be difficult to hold a formal interview in person. I will be very happy to do this over the phone or Skype if possible.

Completed the go to market research and plan for this Australian supplier of various eco-friendly plastics for the SE Asia territory and was hired to be the prime sales person. The plan was cancelled when the global supply of products became much lower than demand in Australia, Europe, and the USA. The production is likely not to catch up to demand until 2009 so Asia must wait.
