(A) Project Fellow/SRF in National Geophysical Research Institute:

For the last 2 1/2 years (from Nov.1998 to the present) I am working as a Project Fellow in National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), Hyderabad, India. During this period I have carried out extensive field works in different parts of India on various projects. Well experienced in geophysical data acquisition, processing, analysis and interpretation of Electromagnetic (HLEM & Magnetotelluric), Deep Electrical Resistivity, Gravity and Magnetic data. Worked on integration of different geophysical data sets as well as joint inversion techniques. Main study areas with the title of projects completed are given below.

1. Oil Exploration Studies:

* Oil exploration in Kutch region of Gujarat- an Integrated study using Gravity, magnetic, Seismic, Magnetotelluric and Deep Resistivity.

* Exploration of Sub-trappean Mesozoic basins-Phase I: Narmada rift zone including its crossing with the Cambay rift - An Integrated study using Gravity, Airborne Magnetic, Seismic, Magnetotelluric and Deep Resistivity.

2. Geotechnical and Groundwater Investigations:

* Integrated geophysical studies for the delineation of subsurface structures for setting up a nuclear power station at Kudankulam, Tamil Nadu.

3. Site investigations for Nuclear Waste Disposal:

* Integrated geophysical studies to detect minor inhomogeneities in granites at Pokaran region of Jaisalmer, Western Rajasthan.

4. Deep Crustal Studies:

* Modeling the tectonic evolution of Southern granulite belt of the Indian shield using coincident seismic reflection / refraction, tomographic, gravity, aeromagnetic, magnetotelluric, deep resistivity, geological/geochemical and geochronological studies.

Carried out at Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIG), Mumbai, with Dr. S.G. Gokarn, Associate Professor.

* Title: The effect of shallow inhomogeneities on Magnetotelluric interpretations.

* Carried out 1D & 2D modelling studies to understand the galvanic distortions on MT data.

* One month field training for MTS data acquisition.
