Operating under license Phillips Petroleum of the USA
CBFS [Carbon Black Feed Stock], Fuel oil and Hot air introduced in the reactors for partial combustion at high temperature to become hydrocarbons with combustible gases by process of thermal cracking. Then the hydrocarbons pass on to various stages and final product carbon black goes to silos for packing. The combustible gas having a calorific value of 800 Kcal/NM3 being used as a fuel in high-pressure multi fuel boilers to generate steam. Which is charged into the turbines to produce 16.5MW power and partial amount of steam is used for process. Generated power using for plant and excess is exporting to Tamil Nadu state Electricity Board [TNEB] grid. Entire plant being operated through Distributed Control System [DCS].

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for operation of power plant and utilities for continuous supply of power, steam and water at optimal cost to cater the requirement of plant as well as to export power to TNEB grid. My major role is
- To monitor the key characteristics of operation and other activities for effective running,
- To ensure stimulating operational criteria and corrective actions for debottlenecking and continual improvement to achieve new objectives and targets.
- To achieve the quality indicators vis-à-vis breakdown reduction, maintenance cost reduction, increasing equipment available time is concentrated upon.
- To growing with the company, implementation of development jobs is the one of the key area.
- To excellence in planning includes correction in emergencies and evaluating the feedbacks to take corrective actions in time.
- To co-ordination with Process & Quality departments, Energy conservation measures, plant safety & related to MIS and conducting training classes to sub-ordinates on various topics.
- An internal auditor for ISO 14001:1996
- Reporting shifts activities to General Manager [utility] and Sr. Vice President [Tech].

Projects Experience:
During initial phase of Hi-Tech carbon, I was involved in erection and commissioning of 80,000TPA carbon black & 16.5 MW power generators in technical collaboration with M/s. Kvaerner Power Gas Limited, UK. During projects, I was in-charge for erection and commissioning of Boilers, Turbo generators, DM water plants, Effluent treatment plants and Diesel generators. Involved in commissioning of Chillers, Fire tube Boilers and DCS.

Maintenance Experience:
Experienced in maintenance of Boilers, Turbines, VAC, Water treatment, Effluent treatment, Cooling tower, Air cooled condensers and Water cooled condensers. Servicing of valves, Traps and Burners, Filters cleaning and Gasket changing. Testing and servicing of pressure safety valves and Hydro testing of boiler.

ISO Systems Experience:
- Hi-Tech carbon is the only company in world to be accredited with three certifications of ISO9002, QS9000 & ISO14001 by KPMG in the very first year of operational.
