OBJECTIVE
A development, project management, or research position with an exploration group where knowledge of geology, teamwork, and leadership will enhance organizational performance and profitability.
BACKGROUND SUMMARY
Experience field mapping (geologic and structural maps) in Alabama, Idaho, and Nevada. Over 1 year experience correlating well logs and providing geographic support using Landmark Geographix. Working knowledge of other programs includes AutoCAD, ArcView GIS, Rockworks, CorelDRAW and Corel PhotoPaint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
• Produced a geologic map of Inskip Canyon, East Range, Nevada. Estimated the field relationships (structural, stratigraphic, and lithologic) for the geologically distinct Inskip Formation and its relationship to the Roberts Mountain Allochthon (RMA). I concluded that the Inskip Formation is juxtaposed to the RMA by a high angle reverse fault rather than a depositional unconformity as previously mapped (USGS Miscellaneous Investigations Map I-2409). The Nevada Petroleum Society funded the project. I utilized Arc View GIS to digitize the map.
• Determined ages for the Inskip Formation using conodont biostratigraphy and extracted zircons for U/Pb geochronology.
• Produced a geologic map of the Panther Canyon Quadrangle, Tobin Range, Nevada using field techniques (Brunton compass use, structural, stratigraphic, and lithologic relationships). The USGS EdMap program funded the project. Completion of the project included digitizing the map into ArcView GIS.
• Collaborated in producing a lithologic and structural map of the Preble Formation, Osgood Mountains, Nevada using field techniques (Brunton compass use, structural, stratigraphic, and lithologic relationships).
• Produced a lithologic and structural map of a metamorphic pendant located in South Mountain, Idaho using field techniques (Brunton compass use, structural, stratigraphic, and lithologic relationships).
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Petroglyph Energy, Inc. 2001 - present
Geologic Technician
Provide maintenance, input, and updates on all Landmark Geographix databases. Provide customized mapping and geographical support for company as needed. Experience in analyzing and correlating well log data (gamma ray, neutron density, negative resistivity, water saturation, caliper, and cement bond logs) for the production of lithologic maps and cross sections utilizing Landmark Geographix software to facilitate oil and gas production in the Uintah Basin, UT, and Raton Basin, CO.
MILITARY
Specialist (E-4) United States Army, AH-64A Attack Helicopter Crew Chief 1992 - 1996
Assigned as initial cadre to the 5/501st - Attack Helicopter unit at Ft. Hood, TX. Responsible for all maintenance actions for a primary AH-64A Attack Helicopter and assisted in maintenance of five additional aircraft, each worth over $18.5 million. In March 1994 I was deployed with my unit to South Korea. As the first Attack Helicopter unit to be based in South Korea we set the maintenance standard by achieving the highest operational readiness rate in the U.S. Army. Held a Secret security clearance.
