I herewith enclose the details for my application.

I am a 28 years old Civil Engineer working on job sites worldwide.

I am used to work independently and act on my own initiative as, for five years, I have been running my own machine trading company. This work enabled me to finance my studies myself.

A former placement was with Drees & Sommer in Stuttgart/Germany, a company of organisational project management/ financial project control. Summer 1999, I spent my placement during the following 6th semester in Moscow and Cheljabinsk, Russia, where I worked for a German start up project management company.

From September 1999 till May 2000, I studied at Ulster University in Belfast, Northern Ireland/ United Kingdom , where I spent the final year, and completed the Dissertation for my Diploma by May 2000 in the subject construction management.
As a member of the ‘Erasmus’ exchange programme funded by the European Community I graduated with an international double degree. I obtained both the German Diplom Ingenieur degree (final result: 1,1) and the British BEng (Hons) with a first class degree (76% in average). I graduated at both universities as first out of the class and with distinction and awards.

After graduating I joint German Consultancy named CES Consulting Engineers Salzgitter GmbH by October 2000 working abroad with expatriate status. My general working sphere was water resources which involved amongst others supervision of irrigation projects in rural area mainly working in Peru and Bolivia.
By the commencement of 2002 I joint Siemens AG Power Generation. After having worked in Dublin/ Ireland and in Taipei/Taiwan. I am presently working as civil site manager supervising civil construction works on a fossil power plant project in Arrúbal/Spain.

Following that project I should very much enjoy working for an interesting and prestigious undertaking like yours by spring of 2005.
I would prefer to work in the field of construction or related management.
The new work environment should provide me with the scope to make full use of my professional commitment and allow me to fulfil the tasks given to the best of my ability and satisfaction.

Scope of work: First and only Siemens representative on site for the duration 2 months (start in the “green field”). Supervision of site preparation, site installation and temporary site power installations. Quantity survey and payments releases of several contractors during the first 5 months of the project.
Supervision of test piling and piling. Approximately 1200 pre-cast piles of approx. 25m length installed. Preparation of final piling documentation including all documents regarding quality based on approved quality plans. Responsible engineer in charge of power island including foundations and buildings respectively for gas-/steamturbines, generators, and boilers.
Works on claim management such as preparation of claim relevant letters, definition of status after breach of contract by civil contractor FCC. Preparation of documentation for future arbitration. Contact and correspondence to arbitrators, external claim managers and both independent lawyers and Siemens’ lawyers.
