* Undergone one year exhaustive training on machine design, finite element analysis, mechanical vibration, material science & engineering, code design of pressure vessel and piping.

* Performed static and dynamic analyses for specified earthquake loading at support location for various equipments. A total of 4 seismic analyses and 10 static analyses have been carried out. ANALYSIS CARRIED OUT
(a) Experimental stress analysis of foundation bolt:
8 nos. M150X6 SA540 Bolts were used to hold a 200-ton weight support tank. Due to space restrictions it was decided to tighten the Bolts by heating. Theoretical estimates were made for the strains developed to achieve the required force. I have carried out a mock up to establish the parameters (Temperature of stud & NO. of turns of nut) to get the required force. Hytech micro measurement T rosette was fixed near the bolt head with one of the gauge element aligned to bolt axis to measure the strain developed. Axial & circumferential strains were measured & found to be equal as predicted & procedure for tightening was established.

(b) Axial impact studies of boron carbide filled SS304 tubes:
These tubes are used as a shut off rod for the reactor. These rods are dropped from the height of 1.5 m many times during trial and comes to rest suddenly at the bottom. An experimental setup was made to establish the impact parameters. Then I have carried out theoretical analysis. Stress wave propagation model was chosen, since the ratio (time period of force applied/time period of vibration) is less than 0.5.Dynamic stresses were estimated for relevant material properties & height.3D modeling was carried out in ANSYS and analysis was carried out using 3D mass 21 for boron powder, Tet 10 node 92 for SS304 tube & contact element and 3D pt to surf 49. Experimental data e.g. Time period of contact and other appropriate data were used in obtaining the dynamic stress.

(c) Analysis of suppression tank along with support structure under earthquake load:
I have carried out analytical calculation & finite element analysis of suppression tank and its support structure under different earthquake loads to determine the stability & integrity of the structure. Suppression tank is a tall structure having a height of 16.71 m with its support. The support has height of 9.575 m and is a framed structure. I have carried out calculations to check the possibility of toppling of support structure under 0.1g and 1.0g horizontal ground acceleration by equivalent static lateral force method. Further Dynamic analysis has been carried out by modeling the tank along with its support on ANSYS. Tank was modeled using shell element 3D elastic 8 node 93 and support was modeled using beam element 3D elastic 4.

(d) Analysis of storage tank:
I have carried out preliminary design calculation for a storage tank having 12000 m3 capacity, 12 meter dia & 12 m height. I have carried out stress analysis under various loads using ANSYS.I was involved in the experimental stress analysis on a 1/10 model to check the design & to avoid costly modifications at later stage. The theoretical & experimental results were found to be in good match.
(e) At present I am carrying out linear & nonlinear stress analysis of various reactor components, containment, battery stand subjected to various thermal, shock loading using ANSYS, PRO E and MATLAB..
