Feb. 2000-Present: Amerada Hess Indonesia, Jakarta (Sr. Geologist)
Basins Area: Central-East Java and South Sumatra, East-West Natuna, and Vietnam
- Preparing documentation, agreements, and administrative works for drilling the Rinjani-1 well in the Tanjung Aru Block, East Kalimantan.
- Working as a basin modeller in North Natuna and Vietnam area to evaluate the prospectivity of the West Natuna, East Natuna and Nam Coon Son basins using Trinity and Genesis softwares.
- Involved in geological evaluation of the East Java basin (offshore), and acting as a government liaison in negotiating with BPMigas, Migas and Pertamina. Carried out a basin modelling study in the offshore East Java by generating maturity maps at source rock levels using BasinMod/BasinView, and also by generating migration routes maps along the top basement to predict which prospects within the migration distance using the Zetaware Exodus software, Trinity. Also involved in prospect risking and volumetric/reserve calculation of the prospects in the study area.
- Coordinating administrative works between Amerada Hess and the government (Migas), BPMigas and Pertamina for the Tanjung Aru Block, Makassar Strait.
- Responsible for geological evaluation in the Blora PSC, East Java and Lematang Block, South Sumatra by evaluating remaining prospects and upside potential prospects in the blocks. Worked as a prospect generator by calculating reserves and risking of the prospects and leads in the Blora PSC, East Java and Lematang Block, South Sumatra for economic consideration and drilling program.
- Carried out a geochemical study of the Pangkah Block involves volumetric calculation of source rock charge to nearby prospects using BasinMod-1DTM.

Jan.1996-Jan. 2000: Maersk Oil Indonesia, Jakarta (Sr. Geologist)
Basins Area: Eastern Indonesia, NW Shelf Australia, Tarakan (NE Kalimantan), Bangladesh, and Thailand

1999 - 2000: Regional study in offshore Bangladesh (Bengal Basin) for Block 20/21 which include well correlation, geochemistry, seismic stratigraphy, sand distribution and porosity/permeability evaluation. Landmark's Seisworks, Z-Map Plus and Stratworks software packages have been used intensively for prospect mapping and well correlation.
1998: New venture study for several areas in Indonesia such as West Irian, Timor Gap, Ceram Island, South Celebes, South Sumatra and Madura, and also involved in International New Venture study such as Bangladesh and NW Shelf Australia.
1997: Involved in a regional sequence stratigraphic and geochemical study of the Tarakan Basin, Northeast Kalimantan. For this study, well cuttings, cores, swc and oil samples were re-analyzed by Core Laboratories (Corelab). Supervised a 1-month Fieldwork Project to find oil seeps in the Maratua PSC, Northeast Kalimantan. Interpretation of the Berau Sub-basin, Northeast Kalimantan. Re-mapping prospects and leads in the Maratua PSC using Landmark Workstation with Seiswork and Z-map programs (Unix-based) and provide a basis for ranking the prospect and lead inventory.
Oct-Dec 96: Wellsite Geologist on a 5-well program (vertical and deviated wells) on the Benchamas Prospect, Block B8/32, Pattani Basin, Gulf of Thailand. Stacked Oligocene-Miocene fluvial clastics act as reservoirs, and simple horst structures in a rift setting provide structural closure. The MDT (Modular Dynamic Tester) was used extensively for pressure testing of the sandstones.
January 1996: Supervised and monitored geological study on "Thermal and Kinetic Modelling of the Muaras Sub-basin, Maratua PSC, Northeast Kalimantan, Indonesia" using B-Mod Thermal Modelling Program. The study also used Landmark Workstation's programs such as Seiswork and Z-map to generate maturity, migration routes, and expulsion maps. Involved in a 3-months Fieldwork Project for Tertiary Carbonates Study in the East Kalimantan area
Generated Geological Database Management for Well Logs, Geochemistry, and Temperature. Involved in Petrophysical Project for 9 Wells using Mincom Log Analysis Program (Unix-based). Stratworks program is used to generate well log correlation and display.
1989 – December 1995: Lasmo Oil Indonesia, Jakarta (Geologist)
Basin Area: West Natuna and Central Sumatra

1995: Set up and involved in basin analysis study of the Inverted Anambas Graben, West Natuna. The study focused on the amount of hydrocarbon expelled and generated from the lacustrine source rock using B-Mod software, and the prediction of hydrocarbon migration from the kitchen area to nearby prospects.

Apr 92 - Nov 94: Compilation of Natuna biostratigraphy data, well logs, cores and geochemical data. Set up and organized databases for poroperm and geochemical data using Excel software, and produced graphic plots from these data to show trends. Wellsite and Operations Geologist for Lasmo Oil's first exploration well in the West Natuna area, CCE-1. Compilation and interpretation of well data for the CCE-1 Completion Report. Calculated TOC from electric logs such as Deep Lateral and Sonic log using petrophysic software, DUKPET. Involved in porosity and permeability study of the West Natuna Basin.

May 89 - Apr 92: Wellsite and Operations Geologist on a 9-well appraisal and development program on the MSAC Prospect, and on a 6-well development program on the MSJ Field, Central Sumatra Basin. Also involved in 6 exploration wells. Office duties included compilation and evaluation of these wells into scientific reports. Involvement in hydrocarbons seep study in the Malacca Strait area by drilling shallow holes for Head Space Gas analysis (Analyze by Robertson Research). Involved in a heatflow project by compiling temperature and maturity data, thermal modelling interpretation using Matoil software. Involved in basin analysis study for the lacustrine source rock in the Rangsang Trough.

1988 - 1989: Kodeco Energy Indonesia Co., Jakarta (Jr. Geophysicist)
Working as Junior Geophysicist for seismic data collation and map generation in offshore East Java area.
