Procurement and Commercial Manager (AMT-SYBEX) Period June 2004 to date
AMT-SYBEX market a broad suite of software systems across a wide spectrum of industry; covering Asset Management, Field Force Data Collection Systems, Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Operations including 'e' Procurement. My responsibility is to ensure that when AMT-SYBEX are appointed to deliver project work to a client both its and the clients interests are commercially and contractually protected, this involves for example Intellectual Property Rights, Termination and Confidentiality. The same matters arise where AMT-SYBEX are required to engage the services of a Contractor or Consultant to assist in the delivery of a Project. In many instances Project values are in excess of £10m and duration can exceed two years from inception to implementation. Additionally involved in the design and implementation of Total Procurement/Contracting Solutions covering all spend requirements across all departments in any industry sector.

CAREER HISTORY
Procurement, Logistics and Contracts Manager (AMEC/BAA – T5) Period October 2001 to June 2004
The T5 Project is one of the largest construction schemes currently underway in Europe. The client has the aspiration to deliver the programme utilising Procurement, Supply Chain and Logistics 'Best Practice'. The forecast cost is circa £3.7bn and my responsibility was to contribute directly to delivering on time and under budget. I had a team of people; with four direct reports whom all have clearly defined roles and responsibilities targeted towards delivering the goal. We have focused primarily on delivering Procurement, Logistics, Contracts and Supply Chain Strategy that reflects the 'Lean Thinking' delivered in other industry sectors. We rolled out the strategy across the entire project and early results materialised swiftly. The principle objective was to eliminate or minimise waste over the entire programme. Clearly this was a new 'Mindset' for construction and the 'Change Management' issues are substantial but not insurmountable.

Procurement and Contracts Manager (Interim Qatargas) Period December 2000 to October 2001
Notable Accomplishments:
- Implementation of a single Procurement and Contracts System.
- Inventory control, procurement and financial systems synchronized.
- Introduced best practice purchasing processes and procedures.
- Gaining credibility about the need to change with Qatargas staff.

From college I joined Ingersoll Rand as a product applications engineer and quickly progressed through manufacturing to product sales including managing a network of distributors in the UK and overseas – enjoying an early realisation about customer service in a competitive market and the potential for distributed IT logistics systems.
After three years I joined Esso Petroleum and worked at their Fawley refinery as a Purchasing/Cost Control Engineer followed by promotion to Senior Refinery Project Engineer.
