Hyperion System Engg limited is a sister concern of M/s Aspentech. I am working as a Process Control Engineer in the company. I have done following projects:
Commissioned SPYRO for Kemya Ethylene Furnaces, Al Jubail, which is Info Plus 21/SQL Based.
Carried out Plant Test and commissioning for CCR unit in AGIP Refinery, Venice, Italy.
Carried out the benefit analysis for EO/EG plant, Sharq (A SABIC affiliate) in AL Jubail.

Installed Upgraded FOXBRIDGE on IA series 6.5 followed by Controllers building on the upgraded system in Takreer Refinery, Ruwais, Abu Dhabi.

Done HYSYS Modeling for two Distillation columns (Dehexaniser, and Toluene-Benzene Column) in Light Aromatic Fractionation Section in P-X plant of BP Geel Plant in Europe.

Working on Aspen Blend project in SAMREF, Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. Aspen Blend software includes DMC+, IP21, Microsoft Access and PIMS.

Feb'1998 – June'2003 Reliance Petroleum Limited, Jamnagar
Reliance Petroleum limited is the largest grass root refinery with the processing capacity of 590 KBPSD. Besides Crude distillation unit, it has further processing units like Hydrotreaters, FCC, Hydrogen, Meroxes, Sulfur Recovery and Coker plants. It is presently being Debottle-necked to 650 kbpsd refining capacity.
Dy Manager (Process)
Crude Complex-Hydrotreater (VGO / Diesel) APC Implementation
Project leader for the implementation of ADVANCED PROCESS CONTROL for Hydrotreater units (Three). The APC vendor is M/s Aspen Tech who is using DMC Plus model for APC controller and Aspen IQ inferential model for inferring the properties like Diesel Flash/End point/Sulfur, Naphtha End Point. APC is successfully implemented in all the three Union fining units.
Principle Engineer for the implementation of ADVANCED PROCESS CONTROL for Crude Plant.
Was involved from conceptualising of the controller till successful commissioning. Some of my activities for the successful commissioning of APC project for Hydrotreater unit are
Finalization of the Preliminary controller design ie finalization of Manipulated Variables (MV), Feed Forwards (FF) and Controlled Variables (CV).
Tuning of the Regulatory PID loops and identification of Sticky valves.
Data Collection and extraction for the plant on APC AW with DMC Plus & DMC bridge software.
Collection of the samples for Lab analysis after making the changes in MVs for Property inferential.
Plant test of the units for the development of the controller model.
Model Development and Simulation of the controller at Aspen Tech office, Houston (TX) USA.
Model Development for property inferentials using Aspen IQ.
Commissioning of DMC+ Controller and Aspen IQ.
Benefit Analysis after commissioning the Controllers.
Fine tuning of the APC controllers after close monitoring of the Controllers by ASPEN WATCH.
Report generation for the monitoring the Controller performance.
Well verse & Hands on experience to work on FOXDRAW and Foxboro system.

Crude Complex-Hydrotreater (VGO / Diesel/Kerosene/ Naphtha) Steady State Operation
Responsible for all kinds of shift activities including Operation, Production, Maintenance and Safety for Diesel, Kerosene, Naphtha and VGO Hydrotreaters. The plant is fully automatic with DCS of M/s Foxboro.
To guide Panel officer and Field Engineers for optimum operation of plant and in achieving production target with specified product quality.
Looking after the shift production activities and coordinating with Maintenance (Elec, Mech and Instt).
