EMPLOYMENT HISTORY:
1] PRESENTLY I am with Reliance Industries Ltd. [Petroleum Division] World Largest Grass root refinery – 550 KBPSD unit capacity being revamped to 650 KBPSD crude processing capacity at Jamnagar, India. WORKING AS PLANT OPERATOR SINCE 28.12.98
2] Guajrat Refinery (a division of Indian oil corporation ltd) with capacity of 13.7 mmtpa of crude processing capacity worked as apprentice operator form 28.04.97 to 27.10.98
PROJECT (COMMISSIONING) EXPERIENCE:
I was involved in successful precommissioning/commissioning & Startup of Light Naphtha Unionfiner (Cap.: 29000 BPSD) & Merox units which include Sat LPG Merox (Cap.: 19000 BPSD), Unsat LPG Merox (Cap.:60000 BPSD), Light Kerosene Merox (Cap.: 35000 BPSD) & Gasoline Merox (30000 BPSD). During this period I was mainly involved in
1] Review of PFD, P& ID, and equipment datasheet.
2] Going through plant specific operating manual and standard operating procedure manual
3] loop punch list preparation & dilution of punch list.
4[ Precommissioning & commissioning activities like hydrotesting, flushing, leak test, drying, final box up purging, acid pickling etc.
5] Checking Fire and Gas Detection System and also fire water deluge system on various pumps and fin fans
6] Plant start up activities like hydrocarbon inventory, oil flushing, cold circulation, long circulation etc.
7] Inter lock loop checking
8] Plant normalization, optimization & demo run (performance run)
9] Plant normal shutdown & emergency shutdown.
PRESENT WORK PROFILE:
I am working as a FIELD OPERATOR in
1] UOP designed LIGHT NAPHTHA HYDOTREATER UNIT having capacity 29000 BPSD
2] LINDE designed HYDROGEN PLANTS [two train] having capacity 181 MTD each
3] HYDROGEN COMPRESSION UNIT which include three numbers of Reciprocating compressors
4] REFINERY FUEL GAS DISTRIBUTION UNIT which is designed to collect the uncondensed off gases from various units of Refinery and distribute them as fuel and pilot gas to fired heaters in different units.
MY JOB AND RESPONSIBILITIES IN STEADY PLANT ARE AS FOLLOWS
- Continuous monitoring of throughput
- Continuous vigilant in the field by taking rounds at regularly interval.
- Chemical injection rate controlling in HP BFW & Condesate stripper.
- Note down field readings for cross check with DCS. (I.e. LT/FT/PT etc.)
- Pump & Compressor change over / isolation for maintenance.
- Monitoring the smooth and safe operation of rotating equipment like pump, compressor fin-fan cooler, and ID/FD fan of heater, etc.
- Lighting of burners using BMS, Burners change over, Taking Tube Skin Temperature
- Various Field Tests for assessing plant performance like weathering / lead acetate test for LPG, H2s check with dragger tubes, doctor test, taking closed and open loop samples for laboratory testing.
- Checking of firebox and burner flame pattern.
- Ensuring all standby pumps are always in healthy and warm up condition.
- Maintain the record for the future/past shut down job.
- Ensuring strict compliance with safety procedure, work permit procedure.
- Check lube oil/ seal system and oil level in reservoir in RFG compressor.
- Following proper housekeeping to ensure clean and safe work area.
- British Safety Council [BSC] checklists fill up periodically. & Safety Audit checking. Other job instructed by shift incharge and panel operator.
- Punch points list out & rectified as per P& ID, OTHER DRAWINGS.
I have an experience of start up and normal shutdown of the unit successfully. I have also tackled emergencies successfully several times.
VARIOUS EUIPMENTS HANDLED INCLUDE:
- Two stage Double acting Reciprocating compressors [Make: M/S Thomssen International BV, Nehterland] – 3 nos. of 5.3 MW each having capacity of 185,000 Nm3/hr for pure H2 supply to refinery.
- Single stage double acting Reciprocating compressors [Make: M/S Thomssen International BV, Netherland]-2 nos. of 1.3 MW each having capacity of 50800 NM3/hr at gas mol wt. of 5.01.
- Multistage centrifugal pump of 366KW rating [Make: Ingersoll Dresserrand]
- Diaphragm pumps of Capacities ranging from 0.4LPH to 1360LPH.
- Liquid full absorbers & Extractors.
- Single casing two stage Centrifugal Compressor for RFG [Make: Demag Delaval] of 3.5 MW having capacity of 22 TPH of RFG.
- Top Fired Balanced Draft Reformer [Make: M/S Selas Fluid Processing Corp. USA] with 288 tubes & 84 burners. Heat duty of reformer is 195 MMKcal/hr.
- Process Gas Boilers & Steam Generator [Make: M/S Sruthers, USA] both combine capacity to produce HP Steam to tune of 130 T/Hr @ 44.0 kg/cm2 pressure & 392 deg.cent. temperature.
- Pressure Swing Adsorption System. The flow rate through this system is 1,20,000 NM3/hr. of Reformate gas.
- Flue Gas Blower [ID Fan] Cap.: 260000 kg/hr, Combustion Air Blower [FD Fan] Cap.: 19400kg/hr, [Make: Howden]
TRANING PROGRAMM INCLUDES
- Under gone various training modules designed by Reliance, Jamnagar covering all the Process Details/ Operational Training.
- Attended FIRE & SAFETY training imparted by Health Safety and Fire Dept. in Reliance Petroleum Ltd. at Jamnagar.
- Undergone Vocational Training for 06 months at Advanced Training Institute, Sion, Mumbai
