I have just returned from Bogota, Columbia where I was directing a bid for the BP/Ecopetrol Recetor Project as a consultant in charge of the bid and as Project Director for Schlumberger. It is a gas separation, boosting and re-injection project.

At present we are awaiting the out come of the bid but I am not committed to the project as I was working on a consulting basis for Schlumberger.

OBJECTIVES    Position in Management of Projects / Contract Management / Engineering/Construction Manager in Heavy Construction, Offshore Production, Platform Manager, Project Manager on Project Startups / Commissioning Overseas/North Sea and Domestic. Environmental Projects.

MAJOR QUALIFICATIONS

In depth knowledge of engineering, project manager in worldwide assignments in offshore construction of gas / crude oil handling projects. Project manager on overseas project start-ups and commissioning. Construction manager / Platform manager on a major North Sea Platform Hook-up. Preventive maintenance management in a marine / refinery environment, involving worldwide assignments and management of personnel of many nationalities. Responsibilities also included the negotiations with foreign governments for the success of being the named contractor of bids.

In depth technical knowledge of marine / petroleum construction and production, such as production facilities, offshore pipeline laying and equipment, refinery gas handling installation and Ultra Large Cargo Carrier (ULCC) computerized oil loading terminals / single point mooring systems.

A broad construction related background including company, project and construction management, liaison with foreign governments, import/export, budget / schedule planning and control, logistics, personnel management, quality control/assurance, documentation and client relations. Many transactions in developing countries required bi-lingual ability.

A strong knowledge of standards required by ASME, AWS, API, DNV, Lloyds, U.S. Coast
Guard, The American Bureau of Shipping, National Cargo Bureau, Lloyds of London,
Norscas Veritas, U.S. Corps of Engineers, OSHA, EPA.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2002 to Present.

    Project Director of a British Petroleum/Ecopetrol project in Bogota, Columbia. The project was the representation of Schlumberger Production Services & Engineering as project director for the bidding, construction and operation of a gas/oil separation, boosting and re-injection plant in Resetor Columbia. All bidding aspects were done in Bogota, Columbia.

1999 to 2002 Engineering company in Lagos, Nigeria.

Primary goals are to coordinate the intentions of foreign companies intending to enter the Nigerian business world by good management and being able to avoid the many pit falls that foreign companies are exposed to in such an atmosphere. Our strength comes from the connections direct to the top of local government.

1996 to 1999 – SIRPI ALUSTEEL USA / MEXICO

Projects Manager responsible for marketing of Sirpi in the Gulf Mexico and Mexico including bidding of Pemex / Bechtel bids for pipelines and offshore structures of one hundred and fifty eight million dollars and sixty million dollars respectively. The responsibility included working the major Mexican construction companies and forming joint venture project.

1993 to 1996 – SIRPI ALUSTEEL, Nigeria.

Projects Manager involving Bidding Projects from seven major oil companies and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company. Managing Projects, Engineering and Commercial Management of Projects on Major Offshore/ Onshore installations of Pipe laying and Platform Installations. Marketing and Public Relations

1990 – 1993 -ENGICON INTERNATIONAL,. Houston, Tex. & Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Projects Manager, Final Commissioning of 2 Mobil Offshore Production Units, (MOPU), for Chevron Nigeria. Successful Bidder of Shell 2 years Flowline East Delta Contract, Plus Project/Contract Manager.

1985-90 WILLIAMS BROHTERS ENGINEERING CO., TX. – Europe-Columbia S.A.

Project Manager of modifications of a 400,000 D.W.T ULCC tanker for a storage and computerised loading facility in Columbia S.A. I was Company Representative for Occidental Petroleum Co. and Bechtel was the prime contractor. This was a 110 million dollar project.

1983-1985 BELCO PRODUCTION OIL & GAS, TALARA, PERU

Project Offshore Operations / Construction, Engineering Manager of land and offshore pipe laying activities and platform construction, including construction barges and diving operations drilling operations. Worked with the Peruvian government and labour and construction permit activities.

1979– 1983 BROWN AND ROOT, INC., Overseas Operations.

Manager Offshore Construction / Platform Mgr., Logistics, Contracts and Sub-contractors. British customers and import requirements. This was a North Sea Operation based out of Scotland.
Liaison between Brown and Root Construction Disciplines and Client Management, Shell/ Mobil. Duties required Presentations on project construction progress and equipment installation status. This was on Shell Brent Charlie, a North Sea Production Platform. Responsible at all times for the supervision of a 250 engineers and construction workers in offshore operations.
Rotterdam, Netherlands, Belgium and Bahrain Mid-East. The project management for the conversion, documentation and commissioning of foreign flag vessels to meet U.S. Coast Guard standards for U.S. Flagging. 20 million dollar project.
Marine Construction, B & R in Rotterdam & Korea Construction Manager, Engineering/ equipment and material import control. Quality control, quality assurance. Responsible for overseeing production on an on-time delivery of pipeline, derrick and dredging vessels being built. This was a 110 million dollar project.
Department Manager, Procurement and maintenance of all equipment used at Brown & Roots’s Marine Operations yard, such as; 20 Manitowoc Crawler cranes, Heavy pipe lay and construction material to support a 2000 man operation. Co-ordination of Derrick barge certification and dry-docking.
