Job Profile:
Seasoned Production Engineer in Petrochemical unit operation with extensive exposure in following broad based competencies:

* Field operation and Maintenance Production section, which includes manufacture of Hydrogen by Catalytic Steam Reforming process unit and Hydrogen Peroxide by an Auto-oxidation process unit and a Vacuum Distillation unit, etc.
* Production planning and trouble shooting
* Planned and emergency shut downs
* DCS Operation

Company Profile:
It is a Public Limited Company and a 100% Export Oriented Unit (EOU). It is the largest manufacturer and exporter of Hydrogen Peroxide in India, with an installed capacity of 13,000 TPA on 100% w/w. basis.
Peroxide is obtained from Hydrogen and Oxygen by using the 'State of Art' Auto Oxidation (A.O) Anthraquinone Process followed by Vacuum distillation.
Hydrogen required is produced by Catalytic Cracking and Steam reforming of Naphtha (as like as Refinery Operation).
The whole operation is controlled by a modern Distributed Control System (Tata
Honeywell TDC 3000 DCS Operation).

Job responsibilities:
Assigned with the job of Engineer-Production in Hydrogen Peroxide unit I was entrusted with following prime responsibilities:

1. Responsible for running shift operations smoothly to maximize production and to meet pre-set production targets
2. 'Preventive Maintenance' put in practice in act and spirit. Systematized checks and inspections to ensure trouble free running of the plant
3. Total responsibility towards emergency handling like Power failure, Steam failure, Cooling water failure, Hydrogen recycle compressor trip, Instrument air compressor trip
4. Meticulously planned and executed plant startup and shutdown activities
5. Optimizing and maintaining process parameters with the aid of high degree of automation by a modern Distributed Control System (Tata Honeywell TDC 3000 DCS Operation).
6. Identifying problems and proposing solutions to fix the bottlenecks
7. Collect quality feedback from QC department about previous shift's production and take steps to prevent reoccurrence in my shift
8.Ensure all works requiring work permits are only carried out after the work permit is issued
9. Maintaining cordial relation and mutual coordination with the other department members like Mechanical, Instrumentation, Electrical, etc.
10. Proficient in managing ETP operations and cooling tower maintenance

Details of Jobs handled:
1. Managing shift jobs independently and monitoring day to day production
2. Provide support to the Production team to resolve any process / product related issues / problems
3. Keep abreast of new technological developments within the group and demonstrate initiative in transferring relevant technologies to the Plant
4. Assist the Maintenance team in providing the desired level of Engineering services to ensure proper functioning of all plant equipment
5. Naphtha fuel and feed system, Boiler feed water system, Naphtha Vaporization (Vertical, bottom-firing vaporizer), hydro treating, Desulphurisation, Catalytic steam reforming (Vertical, bottom firing reformer), High Temperature Shift Conversion, Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) system, Auto oxidation and Vacuum distillation.

PERSONAL SKILLS:
A keen learner with good working knowledge of independently performing production operations. Excellent production related trouble shooting skills i.e. ability to quickly grasp / analyze situations & recommend / implement solutions, wherever necessary. Ability to ensure good house keeping and adherence to safety norms in a production / lab environment. Good writing skills & the ability to communicate with members of other teams effectively. Computer proficiency in Word and obtained Certificate in Office Automation.

* Undergone In-Plant Training in Tamil Nadu Petro-Products Ltd, Chennai in the Chlor-Alkali plant (Heavy chemicals division).
