The Mopar 5300 D2D Connector development project utilizes dealer's inactive and obsolete inventory to satisfy dealer referral orders. This system will improve dealer parts management practices by enhancing part availability, reducing excess and inactive inventory, and improving the effectiveness of the parts pipeline. Ultimately, D2D Connector is estimated to save Mopar millions of dollars. In the first month D2D Connector was implemented, over half a million dollars in parts were sold. This project required modification to GPOP (Global Part Ordering System) and development of over 40 online, batch, stored procedures, and includes, as well as documentation updates/creation. The implementation of an Off Shore programming arrangement to a third party vendor transitioned the duties of this project to the analytical development of program changes. The Sprinter project was designed to add all Sprinter fleet customers to GPOP (Global Ordering Part System).
* Participated in GPOP (Global Ordering Part System) discussion meetings to identify the business requirements and analysis for D2D and Sprinter Projects. Document all stages in the D2D process including business requirements and functional specs, unit/system testing and implementation.
* Developed batch programs to convert EDI-850 Chrysler format into a complete GPOP order and send EDI-855 ASN to customers systems.
* Completed the requirements, analysis, design, coding and testing of a time expiry mechanism across six time zones and 5300 dealers. The process will give the supplying dealer specific time duration to respond before the system allocates another supplier. When the dealer is closed or near closing, this process will accumulate the orders until next business day. The system will prevent the dealership from supplying the part to any other dealer/vendor once this dealer decline the system request to supply the part.
* Modified GPOP to decrement dealer part availability and reserve inventory for D2D referrals.
* Modified GPOP to accept reinstated back orders from Dealer to Dealer referral process.
* Developed a D2D Part Status Tool for developers and production support.
* Modified the Part Master file to identify D2D parts.
* Developed COBOL batch and CICS online programs, in an IMS/DB2 environment for D2D project and general maintenance for GPOP (Global Part Ordering System).
