SYNOPSIS

Mr. Mckean has a wide range of experience over some 19 years working within the petroleum industry. He began his career as a geologist in Australasia before retraining in the field of petroleum engineering. He has carried out many evaluations of oil and gas fields from around the world through both his past work as a Senior Reservoir Engineer with Robertson-ERC Ltd, and as an independent consultant. WORK HISTORY:

Nov 2000 - June 2001        NEMMOCO PETROLEUM CORPORATION

Working on various development opportunities within Central Europe. Of these, the Petisovci - Dolina field within Slovenia has been the main point of focus. Work on this field has included an evaluation of the reserves within the contract area, the construction and history matching of a reservoir simulation model and the writing of a conceptual development plan. Operational planning aspects included liaison with sub-contractors for PVT sampling and analysis, cased hole logging and production system design and operation.
Jan - Oct 2000

Seconded as consultant to Dragon Oil Turkmenistan Limited as acting Production Engineering Manager. This role included development planning, production optimization (using the PROSPER, GAP MBAL software package) and reservoir engineering for the development of the Lam and Zhadanov field offshore western Turkmenistan in the Caspian Sea. Further work included liaison with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and various other banks, as part of an overall project financing package for the project.

Part of the work during this period also included the planning and implementation of cased hole logging programs for remedial perforation to enhance production together with planning for a program of PVT sampling and analysis.

Oct 1998 - Dec 2000

Development planning and detailed reservoir engineering for the development of a field located in the Persian Gulf, offshore Iran. This project included the reservoir simulation modeling of the development of the field including some 11 horizontal wells with water injection. This work required the incorporation of all available data including PVT, SCAL and geological data resulting in the construction of a field reservoir simulation model.

Jan 1997 - Sep 1998        CONSULTANT RESERVOIR ENGINEER

Carried out the reservoir simulation modeling of the Falah field, offshore Dubai, for the Dubai Petroleum Company. This included the modeling of a horizontal (injection and production) re-development of the field.

Studied several reservoirs (Thamama and Mauddud and Ilam formations) within the Dubai offshore concession area in the U.A.E. for the Dubai Petroleum Company. The principle reservoir under investigation in this work was the Thamama reservoir of Fateh field, but also included were the Mauddud reservoir of the same field, the Ilam reservoir in South West Fateh field and the Thamama reservoir in Rashid field. The work on the highly fractured Fateh Thamama reservoir included the identification of zones of unswept oil together with the study of the further potential of the reservoir under gas injection.

Jul - Dec 1996

Carried out the definition and writing of an ultimate development plan for a multi-reservoir field in the Persian Gulf (offshore Iran) for N.I.O.C. offshore. This work included the full history matching of one reservoir with some 33 wells and some 25 years of production history. Another reservoir required the history matching of complex fractured carbonate behavior. As a prelude to the reservoir engineering work carried out, the geology of both reservoirs was reviewed and layering schemes appropriate for reservoir simulation were delineated. This was followed by a complete petrophysical analysis of the 33 well intervals in each reservoir. Development well prediction and field economics concluded the study.

Mar 1994 - Jun 1996

Carried out the reservoir engineering study of a highly heterogeneous fractured carbonate reservoir (Ilam formation) offshore Dubai, UAE. The study of this complex reservoir involved the integration of geological concepts with various forms of reservoir simulation model to elucidate the optimal development plan for the reservoir. Reservoir simulation work involved the building and implementation of dual porosity/dual permeability models in conjunction with matrix-only full field and sector modeling, and history matching. This included the acquisition and use of special core analysis data for input to the reservoir simulation model. Well planning and overall reservoir management also played a significant role in this work.

Jan - Feb 1994

Conducted two separate courses to staff of the Crown Minerals Operation Group (CMOG) and the Ministry of Commerce of the Government of New Zealand. One 10 day course on 'Basic Concepts of Reservoir Engineering' was given to technical staff while another three day course on 'Petroleum Exploration and Production Activity - an Overview' was given to administrative staff in the Ministry.
Jun -Sep 1993

Conducted an evaluation of reserves for the Ngatoro field, Taranaki, New Zealand, for the New Zealand Ministry of Commerce (CMOG).

Carried out a review (with recommendations for enhancement) of governmental technical monitoring procedures for New Zealand's producing petroleum fields.

Jan - May 1993                SIMON PETROLEUM TECHNOLOGY

Carried out supporting reservoir engineering services to DOPAS a/s, Copenhagen, Denmark, in the negotiation of gas contracts with Maersk Oil and Gas. This work mainly comprised a review and interpretation of the data for the Tyra gas-condensate/oil field, and the development of a reservoir simulation model to determine estimates of recoverable reserves.

Nov - Dec 1992

Nov 1991 - Aug 1992

Team leader and reservoir engineer conducting a fully integrated study of the Ravenna Terra onshore gas field, Po Valley, Italy. This multilayer field comprised two reservoirs that had undergone full water influx and reservoir repressurisation over some 40 years of production. In addition to classical reservoir engineering work, a full history match of well behavior (approximately 25 wells in each reservoir) and overall reservoir behavior was carried out after the construction of a full field reservoir simulation model. On completion of history matching, the model was used to analyse the potential of the field for use as a gas storage reservoir.
