Position: Control Systems Technician 2
I was the Lead Controls and Instrument Technician for LambWeston. I supervised nine Electricians and Technicians. Working five years in this technologically advanced production plant has given me great experience in most electrical applications. My experience in automation projects has been extensive. Currently most of my Programming has been on Allen Bradley processors. Such as PLC 2, PLC 5, SLC 500, SLC 504, Flex I/O, Micrologix Series, And one of their latest…Logix 5000. In Communications, I have installed, and configured the following, Ethernet, Control Net, Data Highway, and Device Net. I also have experience installing, configuring, and programming touch screens “GUI’s”. As far as Instrumentation, I install, repair, and Calibrate Instrumentation equipment for process measurements such as pH, Conductivity, Temperature, Pressure, Flow, Level, and Weight. The type of Instruments I have worked with has varied in complexity, like the simple thermal couple, to a nuclear scale. My Motion control experience has entailed installing, and configuring AC/DC variable speed drives, and working with servomotors. The designing experience I have involves building complete PLC panels, Taking blueprints of instruments and equipment, designing, and installing all needed components for that application. I have worked with many different voltages such as: 480/277/240/220/120 AC, and a variety of DC. And yes, I have also done the hard work, “mechanical work, welding, running and bending conduit, pulling wire and so on”.
