MANAGEMENT SKILLS
Responsible for description and implementation of resource development plan for Exxon (now ExxonMobil) oil and gas properties for South Texas production division. Coordinated and managed multi-disciplinary group of professionals (landmen, engineers, geologists, geophysicists, research scientists, environmental specialists, regulatory specialists, and technicians) to create development plan, then prepared periodic presentations (about 15-20 times per year) to request funding, primarily at company VP level. Was technical presentation leader for four years. Secured funding through AFE process for drillwell capital projects whose return more than doubled capital investment each year.
Consulted for Exxon (now ExxonMobil) with sister companies in the USA and abroad to develop resource plans and to provide subject-matter expertise on projects that dealt with business ventures in Great Britain (North Sea), China, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Australia. Worked closely with local technical experts and management teams. Developed strategies for presentation to foreign governments or their representatives.
Consulted on behalf of Schlumberger with various national oil companies in South America, whose work responsibilities included projects in Venezuela, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, and Colombia, to provide subject-matter expertise for resource development problems and issues in their respective countries. Managed reservoir engineering technical department and coordinated multi-disciplinary group of professionals to solve technical problems and prepare corporate management presentations for clients.
Performed a wide variety of tasks that required formal presentations to senior management (Exxon) of the analysis of technical problems related to the impact of engineering technical issues and computing issues and their ramifications on corporate management decisions.
Conducted seminars and hands-on training for both managerial and engineering personnel (Exxon) in subject matters that bridged management and technical issues. Traveled to distant locations in the USA, South America, and Australia.
Managed engineering LAN roll-out with IS counterpart for largest Exxon (now ExxonMobil) division (1800 PCs). Year-long project finished ahead of schedule and under budget. Result was on-line connectivity for all technical disciplines and universal database availability.

President. Luna Corporation, Las Vegas, Nevada; September, 2000-December, 2003. Formed financial services corporation to manage family assets in the short-term. Was general Partner of three capital development Limited Partnerships. The organization was dissolved following completion of objectives.
General Manager. Willis Construction Company, San Juan Bautista, California; March-November, 1999. Managed production divisions for pre-cast concrete and GFRC construction company. Was hired to oversee and manage short-term reorganization of production flowstream and to streamline operations. Major projects during tenure were construction of Pacific Bell Park (San Francisco Giants baseball venue, San Francisco, California) and The GAP Headquarters and Flagship store (San Francisco, California). Left following completion of reorganization contract.
Technical Manager-Reservoir Engineering Consulting. GeoQuest Reservoir Technologies (a Schlumberger company), Schlumberger Surenco de Venezuela, S.A., Caracas, Venezuela; January, 1998-February, 1999. Responsible for performing and coordinating reservoir engineering work activities for integrated field studies for clients in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Peru. Left to return to the USA following completion of one-year contract.
Petroleum Reservoir Engineer. Exxon Company, U.S.A. (now ExxonMobil), Houston, Texas; 1988-December, 1997. Last assignment: Senior Staff Professional Reservoir Engineer, Houston Production Organization. Left to accept consulting contract in Venezuela.
1994-1997: developed plan for engineering development of more than 100 billion scf of natural gas. Conducted research to improve understanding of technical challenges to successful development. Delivered many presentations to senior management of multiple Exxon companies about development program to secure continued corporate funding for resource development. Provided testimony as expert witness in hearings before Texas Railroad Commission and other state and federal regulatory agencies.
1992-1994: served as subject-matter technical leader in division-level field study group for planning of major field study projects. Provided reservoir engineering expertise in an integrated environment with multiple technical disciplines.
1988-1992: lead EOR project development in division-level engineering technology group. Delivered management reviews of scoping studies, project development and implementation, project surveillance, and regulatory reporting.
1989-1997: served as worldwide corporate expert in use of engineering computing tools. Represented corporate headquarters in an international users' forum working with software vendors to maintain high-quality technical software.
Pump Station Technician. Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, Anchorage, Alaska; 1979-1984. Operated pump stations along the 800-mile Trans-Alaska Pipeline. Provided process expertise for operation of two topping units. Left to attend graduate school at Stanford University.
