Technical Manager
Responsible to provide the required technical assistance for the manufacturing processes of El Tablazo Petrochemical Complex (Gas - Olefins, Chlorine, VCM - PVC and Fertilizer business lines) through managing the engineering disciplines.
Conducting technological strategies and activities in order to give the right answers and direction to optimize the operations continuity/ stability and efficiencies of the process plants.
Promoting/maintaining the technology transfer through the licensors as well as the technical actualization through the equipment/material vendors to comply the market requirements.

Duties include:
* Assuring the technical support to maintenance and operations of the plants through the engineering disciplines in order to optimize the production levels, cost reduction and reliability of the processes, equipment and facilities of the petrochemical complex.
* Guarantying the identification of new investments that add value with return and using the best engineering practices.
* Assuring the implementation of EHS standards through strategies and preventive and corrective action guides to allow minimizing the risks in the manufacturing activities of the complex in the benefit of the workers, community, environment and facilities.
* Assuring the implementation and updating of quality systems in the engineering activities and the laboratory services contributing to the products quality in order to comply with the client and international standard requirements.
* Keeping external relations (universities, research institutes, licensors, equipment manufacturers, catalyst suppliers, chemicals, contractors and engineering consultants).
* Production value 495 million dollars.
* Budget 11.5 Million dollars.
* Labor force 144 workers (including 7 superintendents), an optimization plan was established in order to reach 113 workers at the end of 2002.

Ethylene Team Leader
Responsible for coordinating all activities of a Basic Engineering and development of a Class II Cost Estimate for a 1.0 MMTY Ethylene Plant as part of a petrochemical complex (JOSE) to be built at the Northeast side of Venezuela, in conjunction with Exxon-Mobil. Job executed in Houston - Texas and Alhambra - California.

Duties included:
* Establishing the process design basis working as a team with Exxon-Mobil specialists.
* Assuring the application of the best engineering practices and the value improvement process.
* Keeping a clear interface and open communication between the main contractor (Fluor Daniel) and the Ethylene Contractor (Kellogg Brown and Root) in order to maximize the business potential.
* Project controls in order to execute the job on time, high quality and within the budget.

Olefins Plant Manager
Responsibility for operating and maintaining 2 Olefins plants (654KMTY of ethylene combined capacity, MW Kellogg and Linde Technology), an ethane purification plant (287 KMTY capacity), 2 NGL plants (325 MSCFD) and storage area for products and by-products.

Duties included:
* Production planning.
* Coordinating all operation and maintenance with an annual budget of $40 million, and 257 employees, including 17 supervisors.
* Follow up performance of key indicators; predict deviation and take action.
* Contracts control.
* Quality control.

Superintendent, Chlorine and Caustic Operations
Responsible for operating and maintaining a chlorine plant, Membrane Technology - Oxytech, 120 KMTY nominal capacity.

Duties included:
* Production planning.
* Establishing a troubleshooting plan in order to solve design problems, in conjunction with licensor, increasing the service and capacity factor from 50% to 100%, leading a team composed of mechanical, electrical, civil, instrumentation, process and process control engineers.
* Coordinating the annual general maintenance of the plant within budget and on time (21 days and $5 million).

Project Manager, Firefighting System Project of Zulia - El Tablazo Complex
Responsible for assessing and forecasting project performance in terms of schedule, cost and quality; identified areas requiring further attention. Project execution within $15 million budget and 1 1/2 -year schedule.

Duties included:
* Establishing project execution plan, master schedule, control budget, and definitive estimate.
* Coordinating the activities of the project execution plan (engineering, procurement, construction and start-up).

Other assignments in Pequiven were:
* Project Controls Coordinator, Industrial Services Project ($100 million budget and 2-year schedule).
