Project Task Force by JGC-Chiyoda-Vepica-Jantesa Consortium. Estimated overall project cost including EPC contract 500 MM US$.
Electric Start Up Leader Sep 02 to present
- Responsible for engineering support during commissioning and start up of electrical facilities. Operating and Maintenance Manuals review and elaboration. Spare parts selection and classification including SAP cataloguing and stock inclusion. Training plans elaboration for new Operating and Maintenance employees, coordination with multidisciplinary teams for start up planning and procedure, risk analysis.
- Assist QA/QC with quality issues and procedures during commissioning and factory tests. Preparation of Start Up, Emergency, Shutdown and Normal Operation manuals and procedures.
- Responsible for commissioning and start up of new transmission lines and power substation rated up to 230 kV, electric interconnecting facilities between new and existing plants, on line power supervisory and control system (Alstom PSCN 3020), substation automation using state of the art equipment and relays, electric motors and motor control centers, DC and UPS systems, 34.5 kV gas insulated distribution centers, etc.

- In charge of 3 plus EPC contractor engineers task force for review of the project Basic Engineering Design and the development of the Detail Engineering Design for Process Plants, including Naphtha Hydrotreater, Sulfur Recovery, Catalytic Continuous Reformer, Utilities and Offsites facilities, including new incoming 230 kV transmission lines, plant substations rated at 34.5, 13.8, 4.16 and 0.48 kV, Power Supervisory and Control System, Substation Automation for new and existing units, Motor Control Centers, Power Distribution Centers, Induction and Synchronous Motors rated up to 8000 HP, Industrial and Emergency Lighting, Power and Control Cables and Duct Bank Layout, Variable Speed Drivers, Power Transformers up to 88 MVA, etc.
- Responsible for vendor's engineering data review, technical bid evaluations from major project bidders such as Technip, Foster Wheeler and JGC-Chiyoda, elaboration of project general and particular technical specifications for detail engineering design and equipment supply, Hazop and 3D model evaluation, detail engineering drawings review, technical studies review such as Short Circuit, Load Flow, Overvoltages, Stability and Load Shedding, etc.
- QA/QC support in verification of Local and International Codes and Standards compliance such as ANSI, IEEE, API, NEC, NEMA, internal project specifications and PDVSA Standards, etc.
Electric Power Plant Supervisor 1996 to 1998
- In charge of the operation of the Electrical Generation Power Plant, Transmission Lines, Plant Substations and other utilities facilities, including Cooling and Potable Water System, Fuel Gas and Compressed Air.
- Responsible for day to day management of the units for safety, cost control, production, incoming supplies, quality control, maintenance, technical and administrative support, troubleshooting, process and engineering instruction and reports, maintenance and production planning, etc.
- Supervise staff of 42, including operating and technical personnel as well as support engineers.
Utilities Maintenance Supervisor 1994 to 1996
- Responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of utilities plants which include Steam Boilers System, Electric Generators Turbines type MS 5001 with Mark IV control system, Steam Distribution System, Turbines and Vessels, Pumps, Fans, Valves, Piping Distribution System, Fuel Gas System, etc.
- Responsibilities included maintenance planning and cost control, engineering support, safety and risk analysis, spare parts and administrative control.
- Supervise staff of 14, including plumbers, mechanics technicians, crane operators and support engineers.
Electric Maintenance Supervisor 1989 to 1994
- Responsible for all electric preventive and corrective maintenance for Process Plants, Utilities, Offsites, Office Buildings and Residential Areas. Including electric motors, gas-turbine generator units up to 13.8 KV and 20 MW, motor control centers, power distribution centers, electric sub-stations, residential and industrial lightning, power and distribution transformers, DC/DC and AC/DC converters, battery systems, motor control systems, electric valves, protective relays and auxiliary devices, power and control cables and duct banks, overhead distribution lines, variable speed drivers, etc.
