Working as Surveyor – Energy and Process with Bureau Veritas
- Provide clients with significant experience in conformity assessment in quality, that comply with contract terms or relevant standards / codes / specifications. Major Accomplishments
Inspection of fabrication & Installation of Oil and Gas platforms: Structural Fabrication in workshop as per drawing/specification API RP2A,API2H,APIRP2B & AWS D1.1 as well as installation at offshore for 9-clamp on project of ONGC. Top side installation, modification & bottom side at different elevation upto 79 Mtr depth.Installation of Jacket 4Legs(unmanned) skirtpile/main pile along with Deck Module of ONGC,s 9 WellHead Platform(RS1,RS2,ZB,RS11 & RS3) Project, at Bombay high field on board Barge DB 27 (Mcdermott Inc).
Painting inspection: Paint Inspection of Equipments as well as offshore Structurals to codes & specifications, API Storage Tanks, LPG Bullets. ONGC & BPCL Projects.
Certification of annual approval of mobile tankers and containers (Dry, Chemical& Insulated as per respective Regulations / Norms.(IMO, ISO etc): Visual check for damage, witness of Hydro/ Pnumatic, Random thickness check.

Renovation & Recertification of 03 nos used (11 years old) urea Reactors (manufactured by Snam progetti) by repairing as per client's (KRIBHCO) requirement replacing all weld of internal lining by fresh TIG welding followed by NDT & Hydro test.

03/1995-10/1998 Bharat Heavy Plates & Vessels (well Known Fabrication Workshop) Production Engineer. Worked as a Production Engineer in plant, as in Pressure Vessel, Heat Exchanger, Welding Technology and press workshop as part of a team to deliver product, process and technical support maintaining delivery schedule with consistent quality record.
Material Selection: Selection of material both the base metals and welding consumables to be used in Oil, Refinery, Petrochemical, Fertilizer and General Industries for special requirements of Low-temperature toughness, hardness, low ferrite, corrosion, high temperature services.
Welding: Welding design for stress elements, selection of welding processes, selection of welding consumables, qualification of welding consumables as per ASME Sec II Part C, preparation of WPS, qualifications of welding procedures and welders and welding operators as per ASME, EN and AWS code, monitoring of welding activities both at shop-floor and at sites, selection of suitable NDT methods for examination of welds.Qualified welding procedures for CS, SS, LAS & Aluminium, Copper and Alloys, Titanium. Trained and qualified welders for SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, SAW and FCAW Processes.
Quality Assurance: Set up quality system to meet ISO 9000 requirements, written internal procedures and work instructions, trained surveyors for various inspection activities. Preparation of QAPs, Heat Treatment Procedures, Pressure Test Procedures, Welding Plans, NDE Plans, Inspection and Test Plans for various fabricated equipments pertaining to spheres and mounded storage bullets handling Propane/LPG, other vessels in all the codes PD – 5500, ASME, IS- 2825, API-1104, etc..
Material Evaluation: Having hands on experience in conducting and evaluation destructive and nondestructive test and corrosion test to confirm the quality and suitability of materials for various application such as low and high temperature service, corrosion environment.
Inspection: Conversant with inspection and testing of all fabricated equipment and boughtout items. Having hands-on experience on inspection of ships' hull, outfit work at wet basin, jackets, topsides of offshore structures, subsea pipelines, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, storage spheres, field erected tanks, mounded storage tanks, valves, pumps, raw materials such as tubes, pipes, fittings, forgings, etc as per ASME, PD 5500, ANSI, API codes.Conducted inspection of operating equipment for recertification and residual life assessment. The test include visual RE-NDE, residual thickness measurement, hydrotesting, etc..
Vendor Evaluation: As part of regular work, involved in evaluation of the capabilities of various vendors who supply fabricated equipment, raw materials, valves, pumps as per codes and standards. Under took specific vendor evaluation on need-based requirements of some clients both based at India and abroad.
MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Development of Standard procedure for hot forming & Heat treatment of Titanium-alloy materials intended for space research projects.
