MAJOR ASSIGNMENTS:
1) ORYX GTL (QATAR): since August 2004
Working as Production Operator in a world's largest GTL (Gas to Liquid) Project. Oryx-GTL is a joint venture of SASOL (S.Africa) and Qatar Petroleum.
I am involved in ASU (Air Seperation Unit, O2 Plant), ATR (Autothermal Reforming Unit).
The plant is in Errection and Pre-commissioning stage. We are involved in Pre-commissioning activities.
2) TOTALFINAELF: From May 2001 to July 2003
Working as Commissioning Operator at the site of TOTAL SOUTH
PARS, Assaluyeh, Iran with TotalFinaElf, France.
Involved in the Commissioning of 2000 mmscfd Onshore Gas Treating Units
Consist of four trains (each of 500 mmscfd). GAS TREATING UNIT consists of subunits like Gas Sweetening (by MDEA) including Regeneration, Gas Dehydration (by TEG) including Regeneration, Dew Pointing & Mercaptans Removal (Cold Box, Cold Oil Contactor, Depropaniser, Debutaniser, Dehexaniser), Propane Refrigeration, LPG Treatment (Sulfrex). Another Units as SULPHUR RECOVERY (Claus), CONDENSATE STABILISATION, MEG Regeneration Package.
Involved in PRE-COMMISSIONING activities like Air Blowing, Hydrotesting, Reinstatement and Conformity Check as per P&ID, Vessel Inspection, Chemical Cleaning, Catalyst Loading, Co-coordinating with Vendors and Licensors in the preparation of Rotating Equipments for commissioning.
Involved in the COMMISIONING activities like Preparation of Operational Test Procedures for Pumps, Turbines, and Compressors. Functional tests of Pumps like Pressure, Flow, Seal, Bearing Temperatures, Oil Flow, Vibrations, Low Flow, Load Test like Speed, Flow, Surge Limit on Compressors. Checking of Interlocks and Logics involved in the Process. Gross Air Leak Test, Nitrogen- Helium Leak Test, Inerting and Dry out of System.
STARTUP activities like Stroke checking of controllers, Simulation check,
Fire system check like Fire Alarms, Gas Detectors, Fire Water, Deluge System,
Flare Headers, Utilities, Amine Circulation, TEG Circulation, Prepare Propane
System for Refrigeration.
Involved in Start Up and normal operation, trouble shooting of Sulphur Unit
(4 identical), MEG Regeneration Package. Routine Operations through DCS Centum (1000 & 3000), observing Lab analysis changing the parameters.
3) OWENS CORNING: July 2000 to May 2001
Working with the Owens Corning India Ltd, Taloja, Mumbai (Parent company Owens Corning, USA) as an Operational Engineer.
It is a leading manufacturing company of glass Fibers in INDIA. During this period I was involved in a process control and adjusting process parameters as per product specification.
4) HYUNDAI ENG. LTD: August 1999 to July 2000
Worked as a COMMISSIONING OPERATOR in HYDROGEN Plant with Hyundai Engineering and Construction Co. Ltd, KOREA at the site of Hindustan Petroleum, MUMBAI (Leading Public Sector Petroleum Company).
During this Project, I was involved in all Pre-commissioning, Commissioning and Start Up activities of Hydrogen Plant having capacity of 14500 mt/yr (20,152 Nm3/hr), with Haldor Topsoe Process, Denmark and purification of Hydrogen by Pressure Swing Adsorption Process (PSA) of UOP.
The Process consists of mainly Four Sections as PreDeSulphurisation Section, Final Desulphurisation Section, Reformation (Steam reforming) and purification of Hydrogen. Reformer is a tubular type with 60 Cr-Ni Steel Tubes and 108 side fired Burners.
I was involved in Air Blowing, Hydrotest, Steam Blowing, Check of Instruments and Valves, Leak Test, Refractory Dry Out, Catalyst Loading, Check Of Rotary equipments like Pumps and Compressors, Purging, Inerting, Start Up activities and normal operations involved in running Plant.
5) R. C. F. LTD, MUMBAI: August 1996 to August 1999
Worked as a Plant Operator in, Rastriya Chemicals and Fertilizers is a leading Public Sector company manufacturing Nitrogenous and Complex Fertilizers, Chemicals, Petrochemicals.
In RCF, I worked in plants like METHANOL (150 Mt/d), UREA (1000 Mt/d), AMMONIA (900 Mt/d), SULPHURIC ACID (350 Mt/d).
Methanol and Ammonia are produced with the Natural Gas by Steam Reformation. Both the Plants are designed by HALDOR TOPSOE, Denmark.
Urea Process is a SNAM PROGETTI PROCESS, with high pressure reaction and high to low pressure concentration and natural draft prilling.
Sulphuric Acid is a DCDA (double contact double absorption) process.
During this period, I was involved in daily routine operations, regulatory controls and monitoring, adjusting parameters as per production and lab reports.
6) SADHANA NITROCHEM: July 1995 to July 1996
Sadhana Nitrochem is a manufacturing company of Nitrobenzene and Dyes Intermediates. Aniline Disulphonic Acid, Metanillic Acid, Meta-Amino Phenol are the dyes intermediates manufactured.
Involved in the manufacturing, I was involved in routine operations and trouble shooting.
