Exploración, producción, refinación y comercialización de productos petroleros.

Ingeniero de Optimización:
Diseño y optimización de sistemas de levantamiento artificial mediante análisis de pruebas de producción, análisis nodal, cartas dinamométricas y estudio de niveles de fluido. Asegurar la producción de crudo ofrecida. Minimizar el gas usado para el levantamiento artificial.
Proyecto de Control de Corrosión. 2001-2003
Lider de proyecto multidisciplinario creado para reducir las tasas de corrosión en pozos completados en los campos Morichal, Jobo, Temblador y Pilón.
* Desarrollé y lideré la aplicación de nuevas aleaciones de acero (13% Cromo), revestimiento de Polietileno de Alta Densidad y otros materiales. Esta implementación redujo cerca de 2,8MM $/año en servicios a pozos.
* Optimicé el uso de inhibidores de corrosión. Esto ayudó a reducir las fallas relacionadas a corrosión en más de un 50% bajo un control profundo de todas las variables.

Diseño de Levantamiento Artificial. 2001-2003
A cargo del diseño de los sistemas de levantamiento artificial para pozos nuevos, incluyendo multilaterales, horizontales y reentradas.
* Mejoré el diseño del sistema de levantamiento mediante la inclusión de sensores de fondo. Esta nueva propuesta mejoró el análisis y detección de fallas mediante la obtención de de las condiciones de fondo.
* Rediseñé parte de los pozos del área usando programas de simulación tales como PCPumps, BCPi y WinPetro, obteniendo cerca de un 15% de incremento de producción.

Entrenamiento. 2000
Seleccionado para tomar un programa de entrenamiento intensivo preparado para nuevos empleados (PIA XXIII).Este entrenamiento incluyó el desarrollo de un estudio integrado de yacimiento como proyecto de trabajo en equipo.
* Lider de proyecto en las áreas de sísmica y geología.
* Redefiní el modelo estático del yacimiento mediante el uso de la información sísmica y petrofísica.
* Propuse nuevas localizaciones y trabajos de rehabilitación usando el modelo dinámico elaborado por el equipo multidisciplinario.

UNIVERSIDAD METROPOLITANA, Caracas 1997-1998 Educación e Investigación.
Tesis:
Desarrolle investigación para optimizar la vida útil de productos de pastelería (pound cake) mediante el uso de atmósfera modificada. Esta tesis fue publicada en un congreso internacional así como en dos seminarios nacionales. Pasantía:
Elaboración de un sistema de control avanzado para una refinería en México. El alcance del programa de de control involucraba una torre atmosférica, una torre de vacío, una depropanizadora y una debutanizadora. Con este proyecto generé programas genéricos que pueden ser fácilmente adaptados para la mayoría de las refinerías que usan este tipo de torres.
