Material Controller
Supervision of day-to-day stores functions like receiving of materials, issues to the site, inventory accuracy, just in time pulling of materials, controlling materials flow in and out of the stores. Responsibility to generate various reports like inventory report, non-moving materials report, accuracy reports, daily transaction logs, etc., and to bring about any corrective actions.
Procurement of consumables and spares, pipes & fittings, lubricants, diesel, petrol, chemicals, gas which are related to the areas of the ongoing EPC project.
Both Stores & Procurement activities were handled & coordinated by me from the Central Office for the total project and reported directly to the Commissioning Director.
Overall effective experience in planning, controlling, monitoring information, materials, people and synergize them in a systematic way.
Accustomed to combination of job related knowledge as well as strong techno-commercial acumen of managing both domestic and global sourcing thereby leading to efficiency in deliveries and cost savings.
Ability to co-ordinate multiple source supply, complex delivery schedules, logical storage of stocks, global sourcing, experience in cost-reduction & cost-rationalization issues, hands-on experience in supply chain management & logistics, material handling, import/export procedures, freight negotiations, L/C shipping documentation, freight & port clearance activities, bank-related activities, etc.
As an off load assignment I undertake monitoring of Field Damage / Missing Notice (FDMN); Commissioning Spares & Spare Parts List & Interchangeability Record (SPIR); Warranty Defect Notification (WDN) ; controlling of documents through EDMS package and preparation and submission of Daily Report to client. I also interact with overseas vendor in materials management field and with our client in day-to-day correspondences.

I was in charge of the Procurement & Stores Department and procured civil items like cement, aggregate, sand, bricks, CI, SW, RCC pipes; construction items like GI welded mesh and chain link; grinding and welding accessories; grinders and welders safety wear; cutting and heating accessories, pumps, motors, cables & control gears. I also procured spare parts for heavy earthmoving machinery's; pipelayers, compressors and automobiles; fuel, lubricants, gas for the various construction machineries which were related to the areas of the ongoing EPC projects.
In the Stores Dept. I was responsible for all the stores functions like day-to-day operations of stores, inventory accuracy, just in time pulling of materials, controlling materials flow in and out of the stores etc.,
Both Stores & Procurement activities were handled & co-ordinated by me from the Central Office for the total project and reported directly to Resident Construction Manager/Project Manager.
