Title: DESIGN AND MODIFICATION OF RAW WATER TOWER OF
JACKUP RIGS. (Main)
Abstract: This project has been done at C.S.L. (COCHIN SHIPYARD LIMITED), one of the main shipyards in India.
In this project I have conducted a study on different types of jack-up rigs, its components, and a modified arrangement for Raw Water Tower (R.W.T) has been designed, which is one of the major structures on which submersible pumps are situated. These pumps are used to pump seawater for various purposes.
This structure can be moved upward and downward by using a rack and pinion arrangement and hence the distance of the pumps from the seawater level can be adjusted.
