FACT (The Fertilizers And Chemicals Travancore Ltd., A Govt.of India Enterprise having an annual turn over of more than Rs.1800 crores.) The FACT Ltd., is having two production units for producing Fertilizers and one Petrochemical Division for producing 50000 TPA of Caprolactum. FACT also have consultancy division (FEDO), Engineering works (FEW) division and a Marketing division.
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Maintenance, Repair, Overhauling of static and rotating equipments, turbo machineries in Petrochemical plants (Turbines, Centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, Diesel engines,Pumps, Strippers, Distillation Columns etc), Safety permits, Shut down works, Preparation of periodical and predictive maintenance programs and planning, Inventory control, Failure analysis, Maintenance Performance Evaluation, Work permits, Supervision, Coordination, Preparation of Material request for equipment spares, modification materials in compliance with specification requirements, co-ordinate with procurement for the clarification/approval requirement for the timely material delivery, Work at port installations etc.
Preparation of tender documents for subcontracts, Inviting bids, Evaluation of bids, technical and commercial recommendation, Negotiation with the bidders, prepare Work Orders, etc.
Conversant with relevant material codes and standards, Planning software like primavera, MS projects etc.
Work experience & Nature of Jobs handled:
1. From 1995 October to 1998 September –Mechanical Engineer (Maintenance)- Cyclohexanone Plant (FACT Petrochemical Division having a capacity of 50000 TPA of Caprolactum)
Involved in the maintenance activities of Fired Heat exchangers, Turbines, Centrifugal compressors, Reactors, Strippers and distillation columns, Pumps, Piping, valves and fittings, refractory, Flame stack etc.
2. From 1998 September 2003 March- Mechanical Engineer (Maintenance) Ammonia Plant
In charge of the 600 TPD ammonia plant Mechanical Maintenance dept Involved in the maintenance activities of Heat exchangers, boilers, Turbines, Centrifugal compressors, Reactors, Reformers, Horton Sphere, Strippers, Pumps, Piping, valves and fittings etc.
3. From2003 March- 2004 May Assistant Manager (Mechanical)
Involved in the fabrication and laying of 600NB Dock line (cross country piping 16 KMS) for Indian Oil Corporation- Project cost was Rs.60 crores
The job involved route survey, fabrication and laying of 600NB( 2 nos) pipe from tanker berth at Ernakulam to irimpanam terminal for transferring petroleum derivatives like motor spirit, kerosene, naphtha, motor spirit and high speed diesel.
4. From 2004 May to till date Assistant Manager (Mechanical) Maintenance- Ammonia Handling, Acid, Sulphur, Rock Handling Plants
The ammonia Handling Plant consists of liquid ammonia unloading systems to unload the ammonia from the ship, 10000 MT storage tank, pumps, compressors, and safety systems and loading systems etc. The raw material site consists of pumps for acid loading and fire systems, tanks, conveyors, Motors, gearboxes, ship unloader (MAN Germany make) etc.
