ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead & supervise a team of junior pipe stress & support design engineers.
•Pipe flexibility analysis of lines using Caesar II ver.4.4.
•Pipe flexibility analysis of stress critical Fired Heater (API 560) & Air Fin Cooler (API 661) lines.
•Conceptual study/arrangement of separation column piping/reboiler supports and support detailing.
•Flexibility studies based on the Dutch Stoomwezen statutory requirements in addition to the ANSI requirements.
•Classification of stress critical lines based on the project requirements.
•Technical Bid Evaluation.
•Vendor drawing/ document review and approvals.
•Nozzle load evaluation using WRC Bulletin 107 & Finite Element Software FE/PIPE- NOZZPRO.
•Flange Leakage Check per ASME Section VIII, DIv.I, ANSI 16.5 & ASME NC 3658 requirements.
•Trunion/dummy load check & reinforce pad specification.
•Conceptual study of the column piping, reboiler arrangement, reactor structure loads assessment for civil structure design, column clip support design and checks using Lummus-Houston pipe support specifications.
•Pipe rack line expansion loop nesting and supporting/anchor load evaluation.
•Preparation of reboiler spring support specifications.
•Pipe failure troubleshooting, debottlenecking activities related to plant capacity rise & pipe flexibility analysis. Was a part of the 'Flat-out Test Run' team responsible for study of pipe support behavior subject to heavy throughput runs and subsequent recommendations at the RPL Jamnagar site.
•Exclusive field exposure to troubleshooting and construction aspects for support arrangements of big-bore as well as small-bore lines in the challenging environments of an operating plant which also included co-ordination between design, maintenance and Central Engineering Services (CES) departments for the execution of the resolutions.
